Joe Wieskamp Phenomenal Night

I just got home from Muscatine/Davenport Assumption game tonight. It was tied 66-66 with 35 seconds in game. Assumption missed shot and Muscatine got the board and called time out. Weiskamp obviously got the ball and drove to the basket and made it plus a free throw giving him 47 for the night. Muscatine won 72-69. Great high school game. Weiskamp does it all; very smooth and doesn't force the action and won't force the shot. Very impressive and glad i got to see him for a game.

Joe with 34 points tonight against Clinton. Fun to watch this kid, he did it all as Clinton gets beat badly. Sorry just got home from game and have no other stats available.

Very excited about this kid. I think he may be a bit underrated nationally. He will come in and instantly be one our top 2-3 players and give us some needed perimeter skills. Impact player that will make a good veteran team great.

Best MAC player since....? Ricky Davis?

He's white and he's from Iowa. 2 things that don't scream "underrated nationally".

That was against a pretty scrappy Davenport Central group. The MAC is loaded this year with good talent. Its been down recently, but there are 3-4 teams at the top that will go far in the post-season.

28pts is pretty good.

Do you think he would transfer to a "prep" school like an Oak Hill for his senior year?

Don't transfer. Stay at Muscatine. Unfortunatey, the Muskies landed in Iowa City West's substate for the tourney. Highly unlikely he gets to play at the state tournament. Joe is phenomenal, but Patrick and Connor, plus Devonte Lane can go for 60 against him.

Don't forget about that powerhouse Brennan Cougill.

Yeah, I forgot the Cougs. Brings back memories of scoring l

Upping the competition didn't turn Fleming into better player.
