SIAP but I haven't heard anything recent on his recruiting. I think he's going to be really special. Would be awesome to bring him in with some of the other Barnstormers in the '18 class. Still a Marquette lean? Close to a decision? Thanks in advance..

I've read a few recent articles on him and he doesn't mention Iowa. However I hear Wieskamp is still working on him.

Also wonder about our depth at the 4 & 5. We will have Cook, Pemsl, Wagner, Kriener, Bunge and Garza but yet still very very thin at PG.

Someone would have to leave Iowa to open up a schlorship for Joey. His college decision is on the back burner anyway. He's just trying to get healthy right now, suffered a high ankle sprain at the end of football season.

i hear this guy is a real stretch 4.

Right so even if he is a stretch 4 we still will have 6 guys on scholarship and on the roster who play the 4 or 5, 7 if you count Baer (who is getting a lot of mins now at the 4). I worry about our PG depth and even 2 guard depth. We run the risk of having 80% or more of our roster being wings or front court players where even a lot of our guards are actually wing/guard hybrids and not true B1G level guards.

There will be room. Someone will leave. They always do. Or I should say someones.... Actually, with Jones & Uhl graduating we will have 2 to give if no one leaves. We will have enough scholarships for Hauser, AND a PG.

With Weis & Hauser added to the lineup, it would be an insanely attractive lineup for any PG to join. The 2 thru post positions would be loaded. With no dropoff until 2022. Me like.

Anyone know much about Courtney Ramey? A 2018 PG out of St Louis, Tyler Cook's turf. He would be a great addition to Wieskcamp & Hauser.

I thought Courtney Ramey was pretty much KU's to lose. At least that's the impression I get. If the scholarship situation clears up for 2018, I'm wondering about Tre Wood from D.C. He seems to be an under the radar guy we've offered and I like his tape. Having another guy from his area in Garza just one class removed might help get him as well. We'll have to see how our frontcourt situation plays out for Hauser.

That would work for me! As for Hauser he could easily play the 3, with the way he can play outside and drive, or he could move up to the 4. There will be room for him as a swing player.

I agree. We need more guards. Someone really quick, dribble drive game. Charlie Moore would have been nice.

That is for certain? As in from the horses mouth?
This is from this summer, from really close to the horses mouth. Things can certainly change but at that time he was wanting an offer from one of the Wisconsin schools. It appears that he has it now. Now there are other blue blood programs recruiting him. I'd say that ship was never loaded, much less set sail.

Joeys recruitment has taken a lot of different turns. There has not been a decision made any which way. He still likes Fran, likes Joe, and likes Iowa's offense. Just a lot of different avenues there. Everyone can guess where he goes but no one truly knows, and I'm his aau coach.

Good. Maybe you can help me clarify what was told to me. Was he waiting for one of the Wisconsin schools to offer, mid summer? Thats what I was told. They wouldn't say if it was Marquette or Wisconsin but I got the feeling it was Marquette. They also said Iowa wasn't in the conversation.

No? Nothing? Care to make a friendly wager on whether or not he ends up at Iowa? We can settle up on the AAU circuit in the future.

247's little crystal ball says 100% Marquette. But there are the obvious ties to Iowa. Plus the friendship with future Iowa players. That has to hold some weight, I would think...

St. Louis University has done just that by getting commitments from 5 Star Gordan and 4 Star Goodwin to stay home.
Those are big commitments. Especially from Gordon. I met the St Louis HC this summer. Nice enough guy but serious demeanor. All business.

Problem is we are down also
Really? We must made back to back NCAA's. We have a young team but some talent with some great recruits lined up to come in over the next 3 years. We are in MUCH better shape than Missouri and Illinois.

Missouri has lots of issues across its Athletic department, not just BB.

Groce will be done within 2 years.

Marquette- Stevey Wonder has to be on the hot seat. I would think UW would be in the driver's seat and we'll land him if they offer (unless Duke comes calling)

Joey's brother Sam appears to progressing at Marquette. Reports say that Joey would have not played for a Bo coached team so Bucky had(has) some catching up to do. Word on the street is that the family likes Coach Gard.
There is a strong rivalry between Wisconsin and Marquette ( think Hawks-Clones).

The guy just said that he nor anyone else knows where user is going at this point, why in the world would he want to bet on whether he picks the Hawks?

I said "friendly wager". I don't really care if he takes it or not. Why are you sticking your nose in it?

Calm down, sport. Unless you know MagicCoach personally it just comes off as a bit douchey. He provided his insight (which didn't completely agree with your repeated statements) and you respond with "well answer this!" and "wanna bet!" types of responses.

I wouldn't say a bit, I'd say a lot douchey. It comes off like he's upset that someone that's possibly more of an insider regarding this situation stole his thunder.

Back to the topic at hand. It would be nice to land Hauser, you can never have enough 4* recruits regardless of roster makeup. That being said, can't Pat McCaffery develop into a very similar type of player or are their skill sets that different?
