Jok has scored a lot of wide open 3s this year precisely because Uthoff is the best offensive player. Teams focus on Uthoff. Jok never has the best defender guarding him. Teams help off him. Teams that want to stop JU do not help off Jarrod leaving other Hawkeyes open. There is a reason Clemmons, Gessell, Jok and Woodbury are ALL having the best scoring years of their career. It starts with Uthoff, not Jok.
Not completely, in the last Purdue game Painter said they were more concerned about controlling Jok and that's why they started with Davis on Jok.
I think it was implied they had put Davis on Uthoff in 1st game and Uthoff had dominated, so they figured there was more bang for the buck putting him on Jok.

Jok is now leading the fast break, driving to the basket and knocking down threes as well as Uthoff. Uthoff is probably the best defensive player in the BIG and I hope Jok learns a lot from him during the rest of the year.
I think the first time this needs to happen is this week at Indiana.JU is a team player first, which has allowed PJ to thrive. However, we will need for JU to assert himself down the stretch and take over a close game or two like he did the first half at ISU. Hield has saved Oklahoma 3-4 times with unconscious clutch shooting and both JU and PJ have that ability and I think we will need it.
