Their roster isn't that impressive but Booker, Bledsoe, and Ulis are there at G. Let's hope Pete improved his handle and D in addition to keeping up his shot.

There are 20 other invitees to camp fighting for a spot on the roster.

Still think Pete will need to play overseas and work on his game (other than shooting), before he will have a real shot at making an NBA roster. Phoenix is probably as good as any place for him to camp, since it is not a strong roster.

Virtually no US college player who goes over seas ever makes it back to the NBA as every year they have a new bunch of super freshmen who take all the top draft spots. The NBA has little interest in four year college players and they don't get any younger playing overseas. Jok's best bet is to hope to at least make a G League roster and do well so if he has a chance to be called up by any team (unless he has a two way contract for one team) in need of players due to injury during the season. Matt Thomas made 17 of 21 threes in his last three summer league games with the Lakers and was a big reason the Lakers won the championship in LV after Ball went down. Matt still wasn't going to make the Lakers roster apparently so he signed over seas before even trying to make a preseason NBA roster. I doubt that is the last we will see him play here unless he comes back for summer league try outs.

Nader agreed to be drafted and spend last season in the then D League without a chance of being called up. He was the D League rookie of the year in spite of having to play out of position as a point guard. Boston has now signed him to a three year contract with a team option for the fourth year. I don't think he would have made a roster had he gone overseas last year.

OK I just think that Jok's game is currently not good enough to make an NBA roster, unless some team is willing to carry a great shooter, who is a lousy defender, a below-average ball handler, has a hard time staying healthy, and has never demonstrated that he can consistently play focused basketball. Not trying to knock Pete, just telling it like I see it.

I think you offered a reasonable assessment of Jok's abilities. You accentuated the positives and pointed out his weaknesses- fair critique in my book.

There are many good college players every year that don't make it in the NBA.
Pete can still have a nice career playing. It's most likely going to be overseas.
Best of luck to him finding a spot.
