The defense did a fine job today, more than enough to win, but wow, Josey's absence was really felt on key plays. Moreover, his blue collar balls-out approach really drives this team energy wise. Total "lead by example" dude. Guys feed off his constant effort. Today, the D seemed flat emotionally even when they stepped up. What made it worse was the camera crew was seemingly on a mission to show Josey suited up and looking ready to crack skulls on the sidelines before or after a lot of big plays. I'm not sure Northwestern scores today if he'd been on the field. The crap offense lost the game obviously. But the entire team seemed dead emotionally and I'm willing to bet it happened soon as word spread that Josey was out. Goes to show how invaluable one player can be.
