Josh Jackson released by AZ Cardinals

Iowa DB’s struggle in the league playing man due to playing off 10 in zone defenses to make up for their inability to play press, bump, and run.

They might get drafted and play but have short careers due to not playing this style while at Iowa.
playing basically 1 full season didn't help him either....

Cardinals signed CB Josh Jackson.

Jackson is now on his third team in less than one year after the Packers traded him to the Giants last August. He failed to see the field during his brief stint in New York, as he was cut in late October before spending the remainder of 2021 on the Chiefs' practice squad. Now with the Cardinals, Jackson will look to be more than a training camp body as the former second-round pick brings four years of experience and that includes 15 career starts. Jackson first joined Arizona on a tryout during minicamp, but is now expected to join the team at training camp this summer.

Should've come back in 2018. Would've been on the same career path, and how bout no to the "yeah, well, but what about injuries" argument.

Enjoy! :D

Ta hell with that, he got paid for a year longer than if her would have come back. He made the right choice!
I tend to agree with this. Some guys just don't make the jump to the NFL very well. Josh appears to be one of them. Not sure that another year at Iowa would have prolonged his career in the league. Maybe he'll stick with the Cards.

Strange career for sure. I thought he'd thrive after Iowa days. Hope something changes & he sees consistent reps.

Who's to say it wouldn't have?.......

This is fair. I'd say that DB's tend to require more natural athletic abilities at the next level. How many NFL caliber athletes has Iowa had in KF's era as a DB? None.
This is inconsistent with the prior posts. If a player plays entire seasons in the NFL they are tautologically NFL quality athletes. The above posters listed several D backs that played average to long careers in the NFL.

Arizona also cut Koda Martin and Joe Walker. Jackson was signed in July but proved to be a camp body. He appeared in two games for the Chiefs last year, seeing most of his run on special teams. The 26-year-old will likely open the year on a practice squad or as a free agent.

Still cannot believe his career has gone this way...
