Judge orders fired federal workers across numerous agencies reinstated

They should have never left their posts. The “dismissals” were absolutely illegal coming from DOGE. That group has absolutely zero authority to do anything. They should have been treated the same way you would treat a homeless guy who walks into your office and tells you you’re fired. Quite simply - GTFO.

We’re going to see a lot of this. Yet another reason the way president musk is going about the reduction is a cluster phuck.

Such a shame. Had a great opportunity to reduce the federal government and it’s going to be boggled by incompetence.
Exactly. There was a constitutionally correct way to do this much needed work. Instead they took a shortcut that is bound to fail in many ways. Doing it right would take maybe 6 months longer, but the savings would be locked in. Doing it the way they have the savings will be mythical, if they even survive the court challenges.

It’s so frustrating, because we need to cut costs…but we have decided to do it in the dumbest way possible.

Yep. And I love how the law and order dumbphucks just want to disregard the law to shove it through because dear leader says so. These court challenges are going to win. Just a wasted opportunity.

"If the Trump administration wants to reduce the size of the federal government, they need to follow the process established in federal law, [U.S. District Judge William] Alsup said."

PROCESS.
PROCESS.
PROCESS.
@Phenomenally Frantastic if Trump and Musk were interested in following process they wouldn't be shot down by judges. It's not complicated stuff.

I completely disagree with everything you have said. The Supreme Court has already said some judges are obstructing and overstepping their authority.

So the SC disagrees too.

Obstruct, delay, obscure, deny, confuse.

This is the game plan.

More obstructionists need to be charged with federal crimes.

Silly obstructionists and the exercise of their Constitutional right to petition the government and have their cases decided by Article III Senate-confirmed judges.

The Supreme Court already weighed in on this specific judges ruling in this specific matter? Wow that is very fast - kudos to them. As I recall they weighed in on the concept of judicial activism. It doesn’t mean that every ruling that goes against President Musk is an activist ruling. Just that there are judges that overstep.

Now, as it happens I’ve already said I think the SC will side with Trump on this topic. They seem inclined to want to make the branches of government less than co-equal, so that seems like the obvious conclusion.

None of this should stop the main takeaway here which is if the Trump admin had just followed the laws as written we could still have cuts and we wouldn’t have this wasteful judicial process.
