For my money, a federal district judge should not go down this road and make gratuitous statements once the pardon is granted about underlying facts of the case. Unless of course the judge is auditioning to be elevated to the circuit court.

I am sure this judge knows who will be making these appointments in the next few years….and a free audition is too much just to pass up. Nothing registers with the next President like licking his boots….or sucking his……..

So what. it's neither relevant to the original conviction, or to the enforceability of the pardon.
