June 25 USA TODAY TOP 25 Update: Clemson #1, Bama #2, Wisky #3; Iowa State#22???

Like the longhorn network? Texas isn't considered national in most geography circles. But it's probably fun for ISU to be on national tv when they play Iowa:)
LHN reaches 20M homes. That is 6X the population of Iowa. LHN subscribers get a nice gift this year in most likely having two top 25 teams to broadcast.

Congratulations... you figured out Texas is in fact more populated than Iowa. But the longhorn network is by definition a regional network. ESPN chose the ISU game to be on there just like they chose Kansas last year. Saves air time for games people care about

Expanded to 70,000? Well that'll leave just about 20,000 empty seats every game. Lol
See, that is where you don`t get it. If the Clones have rising attendance(and enrollment) with such a pathetic program that folks around here claim, can you imagine what the attendance will be now that we are trending up and will be winning consistently? I shudder to think!

Wrong again.... 2 top 25 team playing to 20M subscribers is a coup for UT. BTW, UT determines the game on LHN(with the agreement of the opponent)

Ask Arizona State or Central Florida how their attendance is going. They have 3 times the students ISU has. Enrollment total only tells us how much of a diploma mill ISU is (hint - toilet paper is worth more than an ISU degree). Which is reflected in your recent updates to the stadium - more cheap seating available - since there is no graduates of Iowa State that can afford luxury suites I guess...

But you didn't address the rising attendance at games which is where your narrative fails miserably.

We weren't running ticket specials like Iowa has been
Wait what? The running joke around here was ISU selling packages for less than what you could buy popcorn for at Kinnick. Iowa has done mini packs the past two seasons because they finally realized the product on the field wasn’t worth $75 plus fees per ticket.

I specifically remember a package where you could get Iowa and then two shit opponents in a pack for less than a normal Iowa ticket a couple years ago at Jack Trice.

How many fans were in Jack Trice for the WVU game in 2016? I would say maybe 35000 at the start of the game. There may have been 1000 left in the fourth quarter. The last time Kinnick looked like that MAY have been 1973. I wasn't there and I haven't seen pictures but I have a friend who was a student there then who has told me stories. I haven't seen anything like that at Kinnick, even in bad years like 2012. We worry if there are less than 60000 for a home game. ISU would look at that number for one of their home games as evidence they are on the verge of greatness.

Iowa was giving tickets away

You do realize Iowa and ISU both had the same amount at just 94% of capacity for attendance last season. With one stadium holding 9K more. Now you don't get UNI and Iowa this year who are about the only teams you ever sell out against.

One 8 win season now is the definition of winning consistently? Funny because all the narrative we heard after 16' season from clone trolls like yourself was Iowa only won 8 games and no one cares about that. Heck Iowa has won 8 last 2 years. Also still waiting for all the those games Joe Tessitore and Jesse Palmer called in Ames where you claimed how they call it such a "loud stadium" every time they announce games there.

The analysts who make these rankings don't know jack about some of these teams...they just see wins over OK and TCU...and I guess....Memphis. They forget that Iowa ripped their heart out last season in Ames.

It was a good game that went to OT. ISU lost both safeties in the game. We look forward to winning in IC this year. ISU is just better at too many position groups, and Fant will be accounted for in the gameplan.

I don't really know your team. But if you are better than Iowa at DE, Safety, OT, TE and CB, you should win the Big 12. I'll even call QB a toss up.

So with you huge increase last year ISU still avg the same capacity percentage in attendance of 94% which was equal to Iowa but in a smaller stadium. Congrats you proved absolutely nothing in response to what I posted. I'll be curious to see how ISU does with out UNI and Iowa games and see how many "pack the jack" when you play TTU in late Oct. and Baylor and KState in November.

Also still waiting to hear all those games Tessitore and Palmer called when you claimed about how they always say Jack Trice is so loud and raucous when they announce games. Which games would those be again?

ISU is better at every position group on defense, and the only group Iowa is clearly better is OL.

In the near future, ISU will have higher attendance than Iowa. That should be the case since ISU is a larger school.

That is the lamest argument I've heard in a while. As another poster said then with that logic UCF and ASU should always have the largest attendances since they are 2 of the biggest schools in America. Plus you are forgetting a small factor your stadium sits 9K less. Going to put stands on top of the football building in the end zone? Since you expanded to 61500 you've only had 1 game vs a team not named UNI or Iowa where you've exceeded 60,000 fans.

Confident statement. I actually went back and watched the ISU game from 2017 recently. Iowa played like crap in the 1st half and really could have blown that game open if Stanley hit a couple of wide open throws... it was only his 2nd game after all. Iowa also lost LT and Boone was playing at maybe 60%... maybe. So the "ISU lost both safeties" argument it moot.

Which position groups do you believe ISU is better at? I'll give you RB... then what? Because it isn't OLine, DLine, or TE. Safety is a push imo.
WR? Maybe... but that remains to be seen right? Butler is a nice option but so is ISM (if you don't know who that is... he is the player in the #6 jersey holding ISU's collective heart in the end zone at the end of OT)
LB? ISU is definitely more experienced with Spears but after that? You don't know that ISU is better than Iowa here... no one does because this is a whole new group for Iowa.
QB? Come on man... No. Stanley is better than 6th year yet 1st year starter because he couldn't beat out a guy who played flag football for experience, Kempt
CB? ISU has some good corners... so does Iowa. I'd say push here
ST? Recinos gives Iowa the edge here

I'm sure you'll tell me where I'm wrong at every phase but lets keep in mind its July... so we're all just drinking the koolaid right now.

Kempt wins that game. He never throws a pick on his own 10 yard line. It should be a very good game.

Your argument doesn't stand up to scrutiny. The attendance at ISU has been good with no sustained success. The buzz around the program has spurned record season ticket sales, and has significantly more students from the state of Iowa than any other Univ. The north end zone upgrade will increase capacity for the 2nd time in 5 years. All signs point in this direction while many other programs have decreasing attendance.

I don't think you understand math. After the Trice renovations the max capacity will be 61,500 (last I saw). Are they planning further renovations to add another few thousand seats?

Either you think that somehow Iowa St. is going to pack in thousands more than capacity OR you think Iowa will magically drop 5-7K in avg. attendance in the near future, when the lowest attendance they've had in recent years is 63K after an abysmal 2014 which even then is more than Iowa St. can achieve at the moment.

There is definitely a positive buzz around Iowa St. and 2018 looks to be promising, so good luck to you guys. I just don't understand how you think Iowa St. attendance will surpass Iowa anytime soon when there is no math that supports it.

So wait you brag about an increase from last year being one of the top 10 in the nation from 52K to 57K then in the same breath you say attendance has been good with no sustained success. 2 years ago you avg was at 52K, 9500 under capacity. How is that good attendance with no sustained success? You can't have it both ways.

As for the buzz it's not uncommon for this to happen to programs after they have good season especially bad programs like ISU to see an up tick the following season. To continue multiple seasons is another thing.

I heard Jamie buys up any remaining tickets for a $1 each so they reach sell out status every game.

For one it is not people in the gates (tickets scanned) because look at the Kansas game right after their big Oklahoma win. Go back and watch the video when shots of the stands. Stadium was about half full, but yet they will state something like 55,000. BS!

Wisconsin at 3 is ridiculous.. I know they tend to reload but they have to replace the whole defense basically

It goes back to what is the criteria of the ranking. If it is about who is the best team, Wisconsin at 3 might be questionable. If it is about who they think will be ranked where at the end of the regular season, then it is very possible.

Morons gotta be morons, but I'd think even morons would get tired of the same old crap. (I am speaking of all morons, regardless of fandom.)

Did losing both your safeties contribute to your best corner giving up the winning TD to a true freshman who by rights shouldn't have had to play last year?

What is your definition for someone who wastes his time trolling another team's message board?
