Junior National Duals Thread

Coaches: Brent Jennings, Bret Robbins, Ryan Morningstar, Mark Reiland, Brett Haas.

Ryan Morningstar can coach a high school team too??

Biscoglia is there.

Lyon is West LaFayette now. Purdue wanted him there right after he graduated.

Biscoglia is one kid I think could potentially beat Schriever due to size difference. He has to be dropping a lot IMO. Will be interesting to see what they both go at in the high school season next year. I don't know that Schriever has added that much size. Interesting that Brands is at 160 still. Guy looks enormous. Also interesting that Shapiro at 195. Wonder if he could make 184 for Iowa? Would slot in nicely and be a good training partner for the upper weight guys.

I doubt they'll be in the same bracket next year. I agree, Biscoglia would slow him down. Especially with his grab the wrist game that he's effective at. And Schreiver would struggle getting out from bottom against him. It's a moot point unless Teske goes 120. Then I guarantee you Biscoglia goes back down to 113. A wildcard is Caleb Rathjen. He can go with anyone and will make some big time noise next year as a Freshman. Easy 4 time champ if he was at a 1A schoolo_O

That team doesn't make the semis at Disney. Won't here either, but putting forward Michigan's team as an example of tougher competition is kind of weak. If you compared only PA's team to what they bring to Disney you'd think this event was a joke (which I don't).

PA NEVER brings a good team to this event, so what is your point? Also, saying that team doesn't make the semis at either is a joke. They match up well with anyone except Illinois and, honestly, I don't think any of the teams here do. Also, I wasn't near as impressed with the Disney teams. The top 2 teams were really strong. The next 2 were solid. After that, blah. Hell, MI sent their C team and barely lost in the R12. Also, Embree was wrestling for Florida at Disney.

So what did I say was incorrect? I said they wouldn't have made the semis at Disney - they wouldn't have. I don't think they are a top 4 team here either, but maybe I'm wrong - which would probably prove my point moreso, because I don't think that team listed above is anywhere near a powerhouse team. A pretty good and solid team - yes. Not a powerhouse.

What I'm trying to say is that a statement that Michigan is bringing a pretty good squad to Junior Duals would have been a good statement by you. Comparing it to the squad that they brought to Disney really has no big impact on the quality of the field at either event IMO.

Compared to PA's best, it is admittedly hard to look like a powerhouse. But, The point was they are one of several that brought much better teams or even brought one at all.

Come Freestyle, you will have very strong teams from Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, California, Oklahoma, Michigan and even Kansas. Utah regularly brings a strong squad. Iowa and Ohio are a bit down this year but still sent solid teams.

I know PA runs the show and young guns is a big part of that, but the depth at Disney doesn't come close to Junior Duals. Plus, with Illinois' track record at this, I am not so sure they wouldn't take it to young guns in this format.

Also, I think the Michigan team I listed was probably the 3rd or 4th best team if they went to Disney. They would have matched up well with Florida, taking away Embree in the process, and I don't know how it would have gone with Ohio. But, this team is actually better at the International styles and have a solid track record of AA's to prove it.

Also, PA did bring Sasso and Hidlay so they make their weight classes considerably stronger!

What the hell? Is this a Michigan or Penn board? Kind of kidding. Actually I like Dice and MSU158. Boys place nice on an Iowa board and try not to have multiple para posts. For the Hawks on the board (which is about all of us), these guys (dice and MSU) are knowledgeable and for the most part objective. Keep in my mind Hawks this a board where wrestling fans can discuss wrestling and stop pulling dicks out all the time like what happens on other boards. With that Dice and MSU carry on.

Thanks, Kujawa. Turk likes to throw jabs when he can. If he needs that to feel better about himself, I will do my good deed from time to time.

I think the Junior Duals is the best High School event. Watching the States bring their All Star teams is fun. I only listed Michigan because I know the kids well enough to list their accomplishments. With the travel restrictions we have had for so long, this event is one of the few ways our boys can show themselves Nationally.

MSU I like u dude. Your knowledge is awesome. And love to see it. 1 piece of advice. Stay away from the PD3 posts and all that comes with it. Especially on the taping stuff. No way to win that buddy right or wrong. Just my 2 cents. Otherwise keep posting your opinions champ.

Advice received and assimilated. I backed out of that one. Sadly, a weakness of mine is getting into a debate without realizing the content gets to people more than me until it is too late.

Yep MSU. Wasn't lecturing or giving judgment just an observation. You put your toe in the pond and then swim in the deep end with sharks. Like your insight pro. Keep it up. I got your back.

Aww...MSU has a warm fuzzy now

I'm a detective who lives in Seattle, Washington. I've come to the conclusion that KujawaFan and MSU158 are the same poster.

Then, I would definitely consider a career change. Maybe chase UFO's or Big Foot. You can also join the group that is still trying to blame Bush for coordinating the 911 attacks.

I now feel sorry for Seattle. Either a lot of people are being wrongly accused and/or guilty people are getting away. Either way, strongly consider changing occupations!

Also, I am not a detective and I live in Metro Detroit. Still, in less than 30 secs, I was able to look at Kujawa's profile and see that he was a member since 2003. That alone should have given a true detective pause when jumping off an airplane without a parchute to reach a ridiculous conclusion. But, hey I am not a detective. Maybe that is how they do things.

Oh I know Chief. You have that right. And always appreciate it buddy. And I am MSU because I think he is a knowledgeable poster? Nice detective work buddy! I am a Des Moines lawyer who went to undergrad and law school at Iowa. Not MSU.

Greco can actually be fun to watch. Nationally ranked Dom Lajoie(from Michigan, will be attending Cornell just took on Nationally ranked Drew Mattin(from Ohio, will be attending Michigan).

Mattin started off up 4-0. Lajoie racked up 13 points to take the lead 13-4. Mattin came storming back to inevitably win 16-16. Crazy, fun match!

Also, it looks like Iowa will have a good shot to win the Bronze Division. They have North Dakota next and, if they win, they would most likely have Missouri in the Finals.
