By the way, Iowa took 2nd in the Copper Division in Greco, losing a close one to Washington 36-30. Illinois ran away with it again beating Minnesota in the Finals. Michigan took 3rd giving Illinois its closest match of the tournament in the Pool A Finals(essentially the Semis).

A piece of advice, while you are out sleuthing look for a group of kids and a dog. They seem to solve a lot of mysteries and as a detective you may get credit for that.

I'm not a fan of pissing matches, but I have to take exception to this cheap shot. What a bunch of crap.

We have a choice: Acknowledge reality or bury our heads in the sand. The game has changed in college wrestling (and in post-graduate training, for that matter). Finances are now a much more important part of the game than ever before, because some of the top programs have strengthened their positions with huge injections of money by big donors. The only way to respond is to beat them at their own game, unless we want to get left behind.

Nobody can deny that Iowa wrestling has had, by far, more success than any other program in the nation over the last 4 decades. To their credit, other programs have raised their game. Undeniably, they've done so in large part due to financing and facilities. So it's an arms race, and we're determined to win it and get back on top. That means boosting our financing and facilities -- which is exactly what we're doing. You call it "begging for money to keep up with other programs". Any reasonable observer would call it doing what's necessary and logical.

There's always room on the large bandwagon for Iowa wrestling, but based on your attitude, we'll do just fine without you. And what a classless, cheap parting shot. Bon voyage.

Iowa took 7th beating Missouri. Michigan 5th beating New Jersey. Ohio throttled Oklahoma for 3rd. Minnesota beat Illinois 33-31 to win it all. Ohio was really tough here only losing by 2 to Illinois.
