Your beef is likely with your local government, not the federal government. Just saying.

I guess kim doesn't feel like your trailer court is worth it. That is, if you live in Iowa.

Maybe it’s anecdotal, maybe it’s specific to where I live, but there is a TON of road construction and improvement going on where I do most of my traveling, which is basically a 30-mile radius around the Eastern Iowa Airport.

*** disclaimer *** This is merely a personal observation and not an endorsement or criticism of a particular politician or political party in my town/county/state. That should cover it.

The feds distribute money to the states, who are then responsible for maintaining the roads. Often, the money further trickles down to the county or city level. This why you'll often see a road resurfacing project end at a county line. Even on a "federal" highway.

As part of your complaining, don't forget to include the poor education you received from your parents tax dollars.

It is amazing, the amount of road construction that's going on in and around the CR metro area. Hell, they're fixing up 6th St SW and Mt. Vernon Road - which have needed it pretty much since the 1990's. I didn't believe they'd EVER fix those streets. I hope that 8th Ave SE from Mercy to the bridge also gets the replacement it so badly needs.

Greenway...FYI the airport area is going to be majorly snarled for a few years with the Wright Brothers bridgework project across 380. It'll be interesting to see how the surrounding roads and streets handle the stress with the inevitable extra traffic they're going to take on during this. If I had a wish list of the next area fixes they'd need to do, Kirkwood Boulevard between the Kum & Go to Kirkwood as well as 6th St south of Wright Brothers HAVE to be fixed - they're both vehicle suspension killers.

It's amazing the growth going on in the airport's general area, and everything that feeds that area needs to also get fixed up while also preparing it for the soon to come (even more) massive growth of the area.

Most roads are the state government, although I suppose there's a decent chance someone in the Iowa government reads this website. Might have better luck here though:

So. A more efficient socialism? Maybe communism is more your speed then?
I'm trying to be nice about this. I just can't I F*****ING HATE SOCIALISM!!!! I HAVE FOUGHT AGAINST IT IN OTHER COUNTRIES!!! I even have the bullet hole to prove it. I am a libertarian at heart. F this government, F the Rep party, F the Dem party, F taxes and let's start living by the Constitution like our founders intended us to be.

Best they can do is give you inflation and tax your social security that was funded by your income tax.

So, when you qualify for Social Security, are you only going to take what you paid in or will you refuse it all together?

Different tax. I will never draw Social Security, BTW. Railroad retirement, and the Government has never stole from that like they did SS. SS is a different tax also.

Regardless, if you are getting more than you put into the system, it's a form of socialism. You are getting other's money.

You are getting what you put in.

Oh, wait.... sorry you're referring to the people who don't work and collect. Yes. in that form, it is socialism (and I'm against that).
