Just call him "CC&Soda" Sabathia

C.C.Sabathia has a 9-14 record combined over last 2
seasons. He has been out with knee surgery some of
that time. His drinking problem needs to be cleaned up
before he comes to Spring Training in 2016. So he has
about 4 months to get his act together.

The 35 year old Sabathia is scheduled to make $25 million
in 2016 which is the last year of his contract. A 4 month hiatus
in rehab is a way to keep his family in clothes and groceries so
he gets his paycheck next season.

"I'm not too big of a man to ask for help." -CC

I hope he finds what he's seeking.

Good luck to him.

30 years ago when men were actually men I wonder how his teammates would have reacted to the timing of this. I'm guessing he did something bad like smack his wife or child or banged some strange to check in now.

Or it isn't alcohol. Or he was going to be left off the post season roster. Or..... I find it hard to believe he simply woke up yesterday and said today is the day I stop drinking. The Yankees would gladly pay for a chaperone to follow him around in order to keep him away from the bottle.

According to the New York Post newspaper, Mr. Sabathia
was on a weekend bender in Baltimore at the hotel where
Yankees stayed.

He hasn't been doing bad lately and most likely would have been on the post season rotation.

Could have been the post season champagne celebration led to something deeper.

Some things are bigger than baseball.

I feel like possibly you don't fully understand addiction.

It certainly explains why he's sucked ass ever since he went to NY.

Some players were never meant to play in certain cities. Some players need to pitch in Cleveland and Milwaukee to be successful.

That might be true in certain cases, but not for someone who is an addict. They sell Hennessy at plenty of spots in Cleveland too.

C.D. Sabathia was a member of the 2009 World Series
Champions New York Yankees.

Baseball contracts are guaranteed. He'd get his money back either way.
