I do believe the players should be able to take an anonymous vote as to whether they wish to go to a minor bowl in a mostly shut down, 40 degree Nashville. It will be an in and out trip against a mediocre at best Mizzou.

Our kids have just been through a very isolating, difficult season and done everything right as Covid testing confirms. Practicing for up to 15 times ( no way they will actually do all that between now and December 30) is hardly a reward from a player’s perspective. If they did vote, without recrimination, to go home and be with their families instead, so be it. I would rather have them do so and avoid the threat of injury so they are ready for the rigors of strength and conditioning come January 15.

On the other hand, if they truly want to play, that’s great, go ahead and do so and do it well. I sure as hell don’t blame teams going to even worse bowls opting out, not to mention players with realistic draft prospects.
