Justice Scalia spent his last hours with members of this secretive society of elite hunters

Trade secrets are a type of intellectual property. Since the US is a member of the World Trade Organization we are obligated to provide protection of such. This is managed at the state level, but most have laws that are very similar to the Uniform Trade Secrets Act.

Furthermore, the Citizens United ruling did not say corporations are people; rather, associations of people. It did not speak to the issue of trade secrets at all.

Hmmmm... this hunting club is an association of people, too.
'Tis true. However, they are not bound by international laws regarding trade secrets. The operative word being 'trade' and it's applicability in commerce.

There are no laws governing the dispensing of any 'secrets' from social clubs.

I could teach you the secret handshake all members of SFN use and not break any state/federal/international laws. The penalty would be time in the human-sized grid shock apparatus.

However, if I provided you with data collected in contract with Ely Lilly the ramifications would involve the legal system.

Rozumis?

None of that really addresses the assertions that in order to be a "secret society," you don't have to actually keep the existence of the organization a secret, you just need to do some secret things.

So, I'd say "Fight Club" is a secret society, but this hunting group is not a secret society... they're simply secretive about what they do.

Won't disagree with you on that front. Mostly just having some fun with this. It seems like lots of people are always looking for some conspiracy in high profile cases like this.

I only half heartedly joked when Scalia died that it took so long to make the formal announcement because there was a teenage Mexican boy involved. They probably had to kill the boy and bury him in the desert.
The truth is probably some huge gay orgy went on all night long and Scalia died with a ball gag in his mouth and a set of elk antlers on his head in some weird ritual.

So THAT'S where the New Orleans cocaine story came from!
