I imagine his coaching career is a flaming turd.

The 41-year-old Kaczenski, who recruited and coached Collins and Valentine, recently took a job as a regional director for a medical transport company in South Carolina that was founded by Dave Roberts, the former Baylor head football coach (1997-98).

Kaczenski -- who was part of Bo Pelini's staff at NU that was fired after the 2014 season -- hasn't closed the door on returning to coaching. He says he was "really close" to taking a coaching job before Roberts' offer came along.

Watching him (kissing Bo's arse) and Bo on the sidelines, as well as their (fellow arse kissing) D-Coord was pure entertainment and comedy. Not sure wth the good Captain was thinking in putting that dude in charge of the DL?!

Not knowing otherwise I would have guessed he followed Pellini to Youngstown State.
Next to Alford, my 2nd least favorite Iowa coach ever. Not a good guy.

It was agon

It was agonizing trying to be a Hawkeye fan during the Lauterbur years. Only NW was worse than us during that era.

I'm old enough to recall his era and no wins. I don't recall anything about him a person.

Alford has a huge ego and an even bigger sense of entitlement. Easy to see why he's disliked, but I also know and am friends with a few people like this. They are not bad people, just self-loving. But ... Kaz is just mean. He reminds me of Biff from the Back to the Future movies and Wez from Mad Max 2. Kind of a hybrid of the two.

Does Alford own his shortcomings or he he prone to excuses? Just curious for those who may know him.

Alford did have a tendency to call out his players when the losses happened. I think it spoke volumes about his own character and lack of accountability. Good coaches don't blame players for lack of success.
