Kaleb Johnson not sure on Iowa return

He'd be an idiot to play another year at Iowa. Unless we have half a dozen stud back-up offensive linemen just ready to unleash serious talent, our offense is going to take a major step back.

And our already-almost-worst-in-the-country passing offense likely won't improve much either.

Would love for him to come back but he’s hot now after a great year. Should take the money and go to the next level.

NFL ready back. Old and experienced with not much mileage. Unless Iowa can give him a few million, he needs to go.

I find it interesting when people try & encourage our players at a developmental program, like Iowa’s, to leave.

Shoun’t you be promoting Iowa as a place you’d like players to stay at as long as they have eligibility - not to mention if they are key contributors?
You realize what the OLine probably looks like next year pre portal????

The last few games where He was more in the passing game made Him some money, That catch out of the backfield at Maryland showed good hands and the quick juke that lost the 1st defender and gained an extra 5 yards showed on tape what NFL teams are looking for in Todays game and the 72 yarder last night showed He can run thru tackles in space , He really needs to go , most mocks have Him mid 2nd because there are a few RB needy Teams He will go in the same area as Judkins the OSU back

He doesnt move the pile. As is he is a lot like Cooper heading in which left money on the table. Better lines..yes and better defenders. He ll go but with ? marks. He struggles when turned to the out side which is another ?

Late 2nd or 3rd round at best.

That is solid for RB, not many 1st rounders. He has great size and speed and is a decent pass catcher.

Gennings Dunker and a heck of a lot of guys with little to no experience, with an OL coach that has no business being here but will get yet another ringing endorsement from KF?
And Stephens, Elsbury, and Pieper who had some good reps this year, and they're very high on. Some good looking tackle prospects in Trevor Lauck, Leighton Jones, Will Nolan, and Jack Dotzler. Myslinski could help at any of the interior positions. Sound like they were high on Freshman Cody Fox, and Cade Borud the transfer who redshirted this season.

Forgot about Stephens. I’ve not heard anything about Elsbury getting another year. Even so, it’s going to be a drop off from a unit that hasn’t exactly been dominant, especially without an upgrade in coach.

What an amazing year he had. Go get paid son, you have earned it. As selfish as it would be to ask you to come back, it’s not justified. We will watch you on Sundays. And Mondays, and possibly now Thursdays. And Saturdays for the playoffs. Ok, every day but Tuesday and Wednesday . And Friday.

He's a "Sunday player." Do the bowl game and then head for the combine here in Indy.

Will always be perfect!

I would LOVE for KJ to return but that is 100% selfish.

He needs to go pro, he needs to skip the bowl game. He needs to stay healthy and go as the #1 or #2 RB in the draft, probably round 2. I'm incredibly proud of all he has accomplished this season and as a Hawk.

For those mentioning the SWARM and money, I think the split in carries between Jaz and Moulton will be fine but not KJ level. The bigger holes are: OL, DL, CB, LB, WR, QB. Basically we have to spend money everywhere but S, K, P, TE.
