Kaleb Young

A guy named Michael Kemerer only won 1 PA state title
Like I said PA is stupid tough.

We need to be making deep roots there. Maybe we can get to a point where Cael will pick up shop again and move to say CA because he has a hard time recruiting against Iowa / Brands in PA.

I think Young could be a Zack Zavatksy type. Guy won 1 title in PA and is looking about as good as anyone not named Dean, or Brooks:) at 184 as a freshman. PA is just stupid as far as talent at the high school level. Would love for Young to fill in at 174 at that level in 2 years.

That's an interesting comparison DH. In Zavatskys junior year he lost to Marsteller in the semi finals at 170. His senior year he beat Kellen Stout (PSU RS freshman) at 184 in the finals. Stout win at 184 last year.

Last year Cenzo Joseph pretty much mauled the field at 152, including Young in the finals. Went on to tech (IIRC) Stroker in the Dapper Dan. Young has a high ceiling and improved a ton since last year. I'm looking forward to tonight's match against Hidlay. Young beat him earlier this year in a close match.

Interesting last name here..

132 Jimmy Hoffman, (Hazleton) DEC Luke Kemerer, (Hempfield Area), 1-0

I would have to guess some sort of relation.. brother...cousin?? Luke's a soph
You can't go far in certain areas in Pa without running into a Kemerer or Stoltzfus

I know that Marinelli is obviously our top recruit of the 2016 class, but Kaleb Young's stock has been steadily climbing since his huge Super 32 title. I'm super excited to see him in black and gold. His style is very entertaining. He is very offensive on his feet with a variety of leg attacks and he's a beast on top with several options he goes to for back points. He looks like he could go 165 or 174. It should be a nice one two punch with him and Alex for four straight years.
I got a feeling Iowa is looking like having a 1-2-3 punch when Berge commits this fall.

Young takes it 5-3...looked like he could go another six pretty easily. We are getting a sleeper here folks.

I'm not sure how much of a sleeper he is Chief. On the other hand he has a huge up side and is an all around good kid. Wish him well at Iowa

He doesn't have the resume that a lot of kids have...just has progressively worked his way up in PA. He's got that whole Iowa celebration thing down...barely would know he won a state championship he was so calm.

Well, the kid from Armstrong (Jacob Robb) at 220 with a dominating match. Fall early 2nd period. Challenging Lee for OW. Same head coach as Nolf. The kid had two first period falls, a 16-1 TF, and a 2nd pd fall in the final.

We can't go one thread without having a PSU clown hijack it. I can't believe they have this many fans that are full grown men that feel the need to come over here and constantly troll.
Thats all they know I guess. Man when the shI* hits the fan wonder how they going to handle it most likely blame Iowa no way Cal be that way.

Lee is very close to Nolf, and to Nico. It's more about the WPIAL, than it is about Young Guns. Kaleb is from Punxsutawney, which is district 9, rather than the WPIAL.

We know how they handle down years, like last year. They disappear. Which makes them look all the more pathetic. I'd at least have some measure of repect -- but still very little, mind you -- for a troll who kept up the schtick even in down years. But this is clearly a fair weather bunch. They remind me a little of those kids you knew in grade school whose favorite NFL team was always the one that had most recently won the Super Bowl. Granted, these trolls don't switch their school of choice -- at least to our knowledge -- but they're front-runners, just the same. They come out of the woodwork when PSU is the odds-on favorite. Once they no longer are, these trolls will shrink back into the woodwork and wait for another PSU banner year.

Robb never challenged Lee for OW. 120 AAA was a good weight with a strong runner-up. 220 was easily the weakest AAA weight. Robb (AA finalist last year) was the only returning medalist -- defending champ Jordan Wood was injured; runner-up Seth Janney transferred and won national preps. Robb is a good wrestler, but he was never even minimally challenged the entire weekend.

Robb's finals match was a splatter. Dominated before the fall, and pinned his opponent with what amounted to a standing suck-back. The match was over at the opening handshake.

The real OW story at PA states was AA 126. Brian Courtney beat 3 returning champs in a row, all Div 1 caliber wrestlers, to win the title. First time ever in PA. (He is said to be favoring Cornell.)
