The wife(no pics) and I came down here spur of the moment until Sunday morning.

What should we visit/do Saturday while we are here? We are in the downtown area. I suggested the WW1 museum, but I'm not sure the wife(still no pics) is excited about that.

We ate at Jack Stack for dinner tonight. It was delicious! Worth the wait to get it.

Love the WWI Museum, highly recommended. I could spend all day there. My wife (no pics) loved it, but she’s nerdy like that. Food wise Buffalo State Pizza is pretty good if you’re bbq’ed out. There’s one downtown pretty close to Jack Stack. The family has requested that the past couple times we’ve been down there and it has yet to disappoint

Take the wife to the Quaff. Then tell her to quaff back at the hotel. Win, win.

Any Mexican joint on SW Blvd. Ponak's and Margarita's are two of my favorites. Power & Light is douchebag central. Avoid it unless you want $10 domestic beers.

The City Market is very cool, would be busy tomorrow morning, better in the afternoon. If you want a hole in the wall bar, hit The Caddyshack near City Market. It's in the original Little Italy neighborhood.

If you want BBQ, Joe's will be slamming busy. Q39 on 39th Street is awesome. It is in a cool neighborhood too, very eclectic.

I'll second WWI museum and also Union Station. Probably get offered some free/cheap reefer down there if that is your thing. It is almost like the Chamber of Commerce is paying people to supply it to tourists

At the NFL draft you couldn't get away from the smell of it. I don't care if you smoke or not but it was like being at a frat party. Just found it weird considering how thick the smoke was with thousands of children there

WWI Museum

Nelson Atkins Art Museum- large collection on impressionists, largest collection of Asian art in the US.

A few escape rooms around river market

Kansas City Zoo- Africa side is Amazing. Havent' been in years. Asia side needed an upgrade years ago.

Negro league baseball- In that same area is Vine Street brewing which is an all black owned craft beer bar. Also there is the green lady lounge which is an old school jazz joint.

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art- Near nelson Adkins. Has a restaurant inside but I haven't eaten there in a while.

Don't go to Sea Life- commercial Aquarium unless you love Legos and are going to Legoland next door. They have package deals.

I haven't been but in West Bottoms they have pro haunted houses. Old abandoned apartment buildings that are permanently used only around Halloween. If you go there, stop at West Bottoms distillery. Campground is a good restaurant and cocktail place. This is an area you can go antiquing.

Thanks for all the suggestions! We are headed to Union Station after breakfast shortly. Then the WW1 museum. Still haven't decided on dinner yet

Joe’s absolutely lives up to the hype. Arthur Bryant’s still a favorite of mine as well. I know the vinegary sauce isn’t for everyone, but it’s damn good BBQ.

Go check out Boulevard Brewing. Cool spot to tour and have a few pints.

Hogjaw BBQ is off the beaten path but really good and right next to a small microbrew.

This!

Negro League Museum would be a good spot as well.
I spent a day/night in KC last year passing through on my way to phx and i stopped by there. Had a great time. I recommend the guided tour. The guy leading it was great.

I went to the TMobile center for a basketball game but there's always something there so maybe check it out? Stopped by the streetcar grille down the street and it was a very nice bar w great breakfast tacos

Don't care what anyone says, Joe's KC BBQ is the goat
