Ken Pomeroy loves watching Iowa Basketball

But he's wrong! Posters on Hawkeye Report are flawless!!! Especially, @Moral ;)

“I will stan....”...?
Yeah I don’t get that term at all....especially when used how KenPom used it....
I think he meant "stand by"?
A crazed, enthusiastic fan. Pretty sure the term is based on an Eminem song about a dude named Stan who was a nutcase fan.

I updated the orig post w/ this:

Stan is slang for someone who is a very zealous fan. Stan can also be a verb for liking something a great deal.

I'd rather Iowa get beat playing man to man most of the time. It at least makes some of the opponents uncomfortable and have to shoot with a hand in their face.

Man defense means a lot less of those corner 3's. It was so easy for opponents to run ball action to one side and the zone rotates and then throw over top
to reverse corner and voila, wide open 3 and no chance for zone defender to get out there. Then there is rebounding....zone defensive shooting percentage
is deceptive stat because the defensive rebounding is SO much worse in a zone and you give up a lot more 2nd shots.

Man defense with JoeT and Keegan inserted is way better. I still don't like the starting lineup with undersized CMAC at PF. Keegan covers so much more ground and
he can actually contest in paint on drives or and provide real help to Garza on post defense. I still don't like Fran's starting unit. I'd rather see CMAC on bench or at the "2" some
and stay big at the "4"....

He also is inclined to like a team like Iowa since his own metrics favor them more than the AP/Coaches polls do.

Ken Pom "Sure, they (Iowa) are flawed in major ways, but aren't we all?"

Quote lifted from another thread, but a very concise summary of why I enjoy college basketball much more than the NBA. Can a team overcome individual shortcomings and perform at a unexpectedly high level? And maybe just sustain that high level for 3 or 4 weeks...
yeah, i was thinking about starting a 2nd thread on this topic, too ;)
