Somali militants sprayed a Kenyan bus with bullets on Monday, killing two people, but a passenger said he and fellow Muslims had defied demands from the attackers to help identify Christian travelers. The attack took place in Mandera, in northeast Kenya. Abdi Mohamud Abdi, a Muslim who was among the passengers, said that more than 10 Shabab militants had boarded the bus and ordered the Muslim passengers to split away from the Christians, but that they had refused. “We even gave some non-Muslims our religious attire to wear in the bus so that they would not be identified easily,” he said. “We stuck together tightly. The militants threatened to shoot us, but we still refused and protected our brothers and sisters. Finally they gave up and left but warned that they would be back,” he said. Julius Otieno, the deputy county commissioner, confirmed the account, saying that the militants “were trying to identify who were Muslims and who were not” and that the Muslim passengers had refused to help.

My guess is it will only take a few short years, or less, for him to be able to get back to you with similar/relatable stories. When the backlash finally does come it will be swift and unmerciful IMO.

Not cheering for it to happen but we have seen this story before. It isn't going to end well for someone and white folks seem to excel in mass organized violence...just saying.

We agree that attacks on people are wrong, right? And that doing so in the name of (or against) religion is still wrong, right?

Why is this a partisan issue?

It becomes a partisan issue when the subject turns to profiling in an attempt to stop attacks on people. It's far better that the 83-year-old woman from Iowa City be strip-search at the airport instead of the shady-looking 25-year-old guy from Yemen who was behind her in line, because... well, we wouldn't want to be guilty of profiling.

Goodness! I posted a story only a few weeks ago about a captured American soldier who as a POW literally had a pistol pointed at his head by a German commandant demanding that he point out the Jews in the camp. He refused, and the German stomped off. You could google it and enlighten yourself, but I suspect you are much happier in your bitter cocoon.

Just more Muslims doing what conservatives claim they don't do.

Why is this a partisan issue?

Because some people want to hold every person who holds to that religion responsible for the acts of a few that claim they do.

You're acting as though I would think that they both don't equally suck.

But that's the point about stereotyping. When there's a mass shooting now days, people immediately speculate it was an Islamic terrorist attack (even though the vast number are committed by people who aren't Muslims). But if the shooting at an abortion clinic, people immediately speculate some radical Christian extremist (and usually, that's true). All that said, I don't know why Islamic terrorists wouldn't target an abortion clinic. And we have nothing to indicate this guy was a Christian extremists instead of a garden variety nutjob.

With all due respect, BS...
