Kicking the tires

You know what's better than a strudel? A Dutch letter. You talk about a light flakey crust. Plus the almond mixture..... SOLID.

Oh, excellent! Now, you can work hard and travel to Pella to buy some genuine 5* Dutch Letters, or you can sit on your sofa and buy some ordinary 2* Dutch cookies from Amazon. It boils down to who you are as a person. One that reaches for the "stars"? Or, settles for mediocre?

In today's world with the availability of 5 star Dutch letters I see no reason someone would accept the mediocrity of a 2 star Dutch letter. Hell I wouldn't let a 2 star walk-on to my menu.

Is BF the incumbent to his father? After a few years as the O.C I guess that answer might present itself. A.Ds don't make decisions based off the common fan nor should they. However they should listen to the fans in certain regards like how does the face of their program present himself and his players. Kirk is a fine man so my hats off to him and his players for that(not that it matters).
No-one biting. But we love strudel. Anyone like cheesecake? I like with strawberries.

CHEESECAKE IS FOR THE BIRDS! Makes me feel all sluggish and clogs me up. Banana cream pie. Now there is your money maker. ;)

Have you folks ever had a crescent roll from the Tipton bakery? If you like creme filled pastry, this is a must-do.

However, now you don't have to go to Tipton. You can get them at Kathy's Pies in CR and a few other places in eastern Iowa. Sooooooo good!

These are excellent (I have family in Tipton). I like the glazed crescents even more.

You don't have to go all the way to Pella. I've seen them around DSM (like at the farmer's market).

I'm not sure how to make that sound like a recruiting thing, but there you go.

Star ratings daum. We are going to need to see the level of Dutch letter at the farmers market compared to jarzma, which is obviously a 5 star.

Back to the original point of this thread, turns out I did kick the tires on my car once. Was last year, after we lost the NDSU game. Got so pissed off I decided to finally kick the dog. Then I remembered we don’t have a dog, so I went outside and kicked the car tires instead. Oddly enough, right about then a German neighbor from up the street came by and offered me some strudel. Weird coincidence.

I love the fact that we are reverse trolling the crap out of this guy btw. I hope his phone goes off everytime someone post.
It's almost Thanksgiving and you are giving me great tips for dishes. Was going off topic meant to "Troll" me big guy? Quite ironic considering your screen name..... guess that makes you a heavy drinker as well. Got any tips on what kind of bourbon goes best with turkey?

You and your self praising narcissism are a prime example of why we don't strive to be like the Buckeyes. Willing to bet you are not going to show up in Iowa City. If you do, I hope you enjoy your trip and bask in the warmth of all the neighborly hospitality that is Iowa. Those of us who have visited Columbus know that is something you do not know much about.

Congrats on being you. Why is a Buckeye fan concerned with how Iowa perceives itself? It must be nice to be drowning in five stars.

If everyone in life was as accepting of their lot in life we would never have any movement or new discoveries. Oh well. for those of you who accept mediocrity and being the whipping boys of Ohio State.

c'est la vie

Kirk Ferentz has been your head coach for 18 years now and is in his mid 60's. How much longer do you really expect him to roam the sidelines? If he decides to hang up the whistle in the next two years will nepotism cause you to have Ferentz JR. as your head man?

What kind of coach would you expect your program to hire? I think after this year you'll have maybe 10 or more Power 5 job openings. Just theoretically picture Iowa as one of those jobs. Are you a top 30 program? From what I know I would say you would be below Florida, Tennessee but above Arkansas, Ole Miss in the SEC. In the Big XII you would be around West Virginia and above Kansas State.

Listening to your coach would lead me to believe you are incapable of constantly competing with the Ohio States. If your coach thinks of you as a developmental program I can't imagine that instills much excitement or confidence in boosters or potential recruits. Wake up and kick the freaking door in Kirkland! It's like watching paint dry........

lol, you've just laid out why so many Iowa fans are frustrated as hell. Kirk Ferentz is signed until 2025 or 2026. His buyout is enormous so we're stuck with him unless he decides to retire or drops dead from boredom on the sidelines.
