Says a lot about how strongly he feels about the staff when he didn't fire any coaches last year! How many times have u seen head coaches fire the OC or DC when things don't go well. Speaks to his belief a in the staff, his loyalty and his principles!

He's done a great job this year, but he's also done a subpar job in previous years. Not letting Beathard play among other coaching decisions last year killed us.

That being said, one thing I've never questioned is his integrity. Firing assistants is what crappy coaches do to try to deflect the blame. Even the most Ferentz loving people last year hated Greg Davis..firing him would have been a great PR move. He didn't do that. I give him a LOT of credit for that.

Mack Brown used Greg Davis as a scapegoat and was soon fired. Paul Rhoades used Tubby as a scapegoat and was soon fired. If you try to deflect your own failure by firing an assistant...you generally suck. I'm proud to say that Ferentz is above that.
