Kris & Kenyon respond to Kris' future. HINT: He's heading to the NBA

this is great...9 pages full of 'experts' LOL...a/k/a --- Fran can't recruit haters beside themselves.

this is also why I have been out of internet communication ''' rather talk to my dog...he has better comprehension skills.

yep. back in 2019 the "experts" on here were saying the Murray twins were walk ons at best.

now we are hearing from "experts" on here that Kris is not NBA first round draft pick material, even though he clearly is.

As they say, opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one.
Some opinions in forums are from people with knowledge and some not even close.
Unfortunately we have to sort through all of it.
I feel bad for the Murray family for the stupidity of some.

I think this is why Kenyon rarely posts on here. He used to all the time.

Don't blame him,.. Absolutely nothing good going to come out of him openly posting here as the known father of two team members.

I actually liked some of the conversations and his opinions as a former player and as someone who travels to other campuses and sees other campus facilities.

by the way: he said our facilities were just fine.

i wonder if we will lose anyone beyond Kris

do you think there's any validity to Tony leaving, as has been claimed?
No. I don't see Tony leaving. He's a starter and honestly he would have a harder time finding a better place for him than here at Iowa. I don't think he's going in the portal. Bowen either which I heard a lot earlier in the year. Bowen had a great article about gis freshman year being for learning how to play in college and get his body stronger. No expectations of serious minutes. We'll see but doubt either one hits the portal. Tony is making around 15 to 20 grand in nil also if my sources are right. Started at a little over 10 grand which i saw in an article quite awhile ago.

I think Kris ought to declare for the draft and then get evaluated before making any real decisions. They will tell him how they really feel. I expect him back to work on a couple of things.

He did that last year. He played very well in the workouts. They told him he was a fringe 1st rounder so he returned.

He will go in the first round this year.

Have you heard of mock drafts? Have you ever looked at one?

Hmm..Perkins needs more NIL money, that's for sure.

I demand Kris comes back because I want him to. Strictly for my benefit and entertainment. No doubt he goes to the NBA but my needs are far more important than anyone else's!

You're right, you are starting to show more narcissistic behavior. You might want to have a talk with yourself. :)

I can respect your opinion on this but you have had no opportunity to walk in the Murray’s shoes and neither have most of us. We all would have a reaction to the negative post and sure would respond.
So does this mean you have empathy for the McCaffery's too? They are all in the public eye and are well compensated for it. They understand it is part of the deal. If an athlete or family member goes on twitter or this message board, well, they are bound to get an earful of negativity. Easy way to avoid it - staff off social media and certainly don't respond to it.

I hope Kris makes it as he seems like a very class act and has worked his arse off to get to this point.

Personally I don’t think he will excel in the NBA. Hope I’m wrong, as I have always liked the Murray family. I does hope he gets paid though, that can be life changing money.

I do wonder what would have been if he and his brother had played from day 1…
Kris wasn't ready day 1. He worked hard and earned it but he was nowhere near ready to contribute as a freshman.

Seniors don't get drafted in the top half, all of the top 10 picks last year were underclassman.

Probably a little bit of a self fulfilling prophecy...

The underclassman that are good enough to go anywhere in the 1st round, just aren't staying for their senior year to try and raise their draft a few spots. Similar to what Kris will most likely do.

I know that Fran has the same deal as kf with everyone getting the same amount. Before it was a little over 10 grand but i don't know if he is getting the swarm to up it for certain players and definitely for some good portal transfers.

I'm going off memory but the CEO of the Swarm talked about the allocation each player receives and I want to say it was around $20k per athlete. I could be wrong on that, though.

Just to point out there maybe just a little more accurate then the shit that Mel Kiper posts about football, and you could wipe your backside with anything that he prints as accurate as it not. You also realize that a lot of teams say things ahead of the draft to throw off the other teams on who they'll pick.

Yes. We definitely moved the amount to double what it was. Iowa was around 10th or 11th in the big as far as nil. Now we are getting more donations to tge swarm and the basketball players are getting better money. Hopefully it has an impact on recruiting some portal players.
