I think in that specific situation we know for a fact that is what they "should" have done, that's the great thing about hindsight.

Are you advocating that, knowing the outcome, they should have acted differently?

Just because we know the outcome doesn't mean the guy's actions were the right thing to do. The Policeman not only had to push the rifle away, but the. Had to fight the guy from being shot by his pistol. All I am saying is that this guy gaave every reason to put down and shot by police and there are still those that feel that this officer's actions are a template for how an officer should react. No, it isn't.
