It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.

I see he is at 220 this year (like last year) - I was hearing he would be HWT this year. I'm sure the #1 ranked 3A HWT isn't going to complain.

correct in that it is literally not true
I guess you could say we have 2 guys that have been the #1 p4p guy in the class of 2023. I don't really know what you would call Cody Chittum at this point other than a solid recruit.

great recruit, but he hasn't been considered top in his class for a while now.

Because then he'd cut to 197?

It’s like everything’s perfect and you should be really really happy, except for that feeling in the back of your head that’s spoiling it. You want it to not be there and just be in the moment and be happy. You wanna brush it off as worrying too much, but it’s still there, reminding you, “hey, football.”

I'm guessing that Carrol who has been #1 is not wrestling in HS this year. Willie removes them from the rankings when that is the case.
I too was wondering about Carroll ( who beat Kueter by TF at Fargo). FLO still has Carroll as #1 p4p, Kueter is #2. Carroll is committed to Okla St. Wonder what's going on.

No way this can b true. #1 re recruit 2 years running. This space is reserved for psu only
What has really stuck out to me with most of these recruits is the athleticism, I also think there is a large gap for improvement which is not always common among the elite recruits.

I have to also point out one of these recruits that really caught my eye and may be flying under the radar is Keyan Hernandez, although not currently ranked and in the class of 2024 I believe he is going to have a major impact wearing the Iowa uniform.

Always great to be a Hawk fan, Go Hawks!

I bet a quick Google search will answer your question.
Just thought I'd give you an opportunity to be a jerk.

Yes, I could sit here in silence and look up everything on wikipedia, and not interact with others (sadly, through the internet rather than face to face), but I prefer to have some virtual conversation. I'm guessing I'm one of very few posters who would love to meet each of you in person - loved it when some of us got together in St. Louis a number of years ago (Sandor, Lax, Chief, Kwood, and others) - was great to get to know them!

A quick 240 Hwt can get the job done.
WHY does the NCAA not have a 215/220 class?
It works for the NAIA.
NAIA does not have a 215/220 class - my kid was stuck in between - can't make 197 without killing themselves and don't want to just add fat to be a HWT. It's pretty dumb actually, add another weight and eliminate the tie breaker nonsense.

I especially like his soup! :p
He’s a kid from Cedar Falls plays Linebacker at Iowa…… unanimous first team AA and won the Butkus award recognizes him as the nation’s best linebacker

also won the Campbell award as the nation’s best athlete/scholar

Kids a great team mate…… team leader and someone the whole state of Iowa should ne proud of

Interesting stance and pretty much the same reason Carroll is no longer #1 in the 2023 class, is the only reason why. To be clear, Chittum WAS the #1 in his class UNTIL he decided to forego his senior year(or graduate early depending on semantic arguments) and train exclusively.

he had moved down the rankings before that decision. i could be wrong, but thought he had fallen behind guys like shapiro and carroll. unfortunately @smalls103 doesn't keep archives of his big boards on rokfin. maybe he can help out. would be happy to be wrong.

Which ranking service? I never saw that. Please show me where...

Edited to add: Chittum was #1 in the Class of 2023 in the FLO rankings all the way until April of 2022. The next FLO ranking was in August and he had declared by then...

So, I can see why an athlete is taken out of the rankings for their weight when they leave school before their senior season to train but not PfP.
