Kueter new #1 P4P in MatScouts rankings

Which ranking service? I never saw that. Please show me where...

Edited to add: Chittum was #1 in the Class of 2023 in the FLO rankings all the way until April of 2022. The next FLO ranking was in August and he had declared by then...
yep just saw that. i only look at willie's. could also be wrong and would be happy to admit it.

So, I can see why an athlete is taken out of the rankings for their weight when they leave school before their senior season to train but not PfP.
i don't understand at all why they would come off of the big board. they're still recruits for that class.

he had moved down the rankings before that decision. i could be wrong, but thought he had fallen behind guys like shapiro and carroll. unfortunately @smalls103 doesn't keep archives of his big boards on rokfin. maybe he can help out. would be happy to be wrong.
Either way, I showed he HAD in fact still been considered top in his class by at least 1 ranking service...

Although I do think Willie is a solid ranker, rokfin isn't quite there yet to get me to come out of pocket for their services. For now, FLO, BTN+ and ESPN+ along with the standard sports network providers take enough of my money and provide nearly all I need.

Maybe rokfin will get there eventually, but they still have a ways to go in my eyes...

As an aside, have Carroll and Kueter everwrestled? I have watched enough of Carroll wrestling to absolutely endorse him as a bonafide stud, however Kueter winning Junior Worlds would probably incentivize me to put Ben over Christian if there isn't a head to head to go off of...

don't disagree there at all. i used to think he was a very clear #1. i'm not quite as high on him as i was then because he does have some holes in his game. holes that can be addressed, but still holes.

i view him very similarly to gabe arnold. almost totally complete. comfortable in every position. good scramblers. high mat iq. i think the floor is very high. but both have yet to show consistent leg attack offense and i think that's really important if you want to be a multi time champ. also a little concerned that he's been banged up a lot the last couple years.

a couple times. kueter's first huge national win was a pin over carroll at a dual meet tourny. countered a single with a cradle.

a few months later they met in the fargo finals and carroll teched him 10-0

Thanks, I should have remembered those, especially the Fargo match. I remember Carroll dominating and especially remember the Jesus sweatshirt, I just didn't remember Kueter being the one getting dominated!

Of note is the first meeting was at 197 where Carroll IMO was cutting too much. He passed out or got knocked out in a different match later on that day. The second match at 220 Kueter had just moved up and was a small 220 and was less than a year and a half from wrestling 160.

Kueter definitely had the height and length advantage, but Carroll looked so much stronger it didn't look fair. Crazy thing was, even though he dominated with chest wraps and guts, he was shooting from space and even looked super quick doing that!

Those rankings are for high school athletes competing with other high school kids.
the weight class and p4p i totally agree. the class big boards are recruiting rankings. that's why you frequently see kids ranked ahead of guys they've lost to. chittum and carroll are still class of 2023 recruits and should be on the class of 2023 big board. by removing them, all you're doing is presenting an inaccurate view of the recruiting class.

Is Iowa not getting credit for Chittum in this class? Not based on what I’ve seen.

Also, by the above measure, should JC kids be on the Big Board, too?

NAIA does not have a 215/220 class - my kid was stuck in between - can't make 197 without killing themselves and don't want to just add fat to be a HWT. It's pretty dumb actually, add another weight and eliminate the tie breaker nonsense.
I was right there with your son. At 6'2" and at 17 I was stuck in the low 200's. I ended up being in the best shape of my life at about 208-210 which is terrible if you wrestle.

I have flo for dirt track racing, was nice to find out I could watch wrestling on it too. No extra cost.
