I don’t follow the national scene too closely, so sorry for forgetting the names, but I recall a guy from Dayton, Winston from MSU, guy from Kansas, guy from Oregon. Can’t recall the other two. Just struck me that Garza was missing.
If they are the guys I'm guessing from those schools then it's a solid list and hard to argue with. You can definitely make the case for Garza though.
Lavin said his list was all players on teams in the top 12 of the rankings. He followed up listing three more players, Garza being the first one mentioned, and said any of them could also win the POY.Yeah, it's easy to make a list without Garza and just as easy to make one with him.

Translation: OP is an idiot.
That's fine. It's all about NBA for a lot of these guys. Dont care if a player dominates in college if he isn't a lottery pick in the NBA he isn't an elite player in their minds. College should be about how a player performs in college and his value to his team. Not what his NBA potential is. Garza isn't on anyone's draft board right now.
That said there is a lot of guys have some great seasons right now not everyone has really heard about Garza just yet. He justifiably won't be on everyone's list.
I think you are all taking it too personal. Not everyone has seen Garza play. If he continues to play at a high level, it will sort itself out.
Completely agree.
There are guys out there that you can't probably watch for 2 minutes and say, "Wow!" - Garza is not one of those guys.
This, and that applies to football, too. Years ago, SI used to have a yearly thing about how the Heisman should be the player, usually a QB, that would best make the NFL, completely ignoring that the Heisman is a COLLEGE award. And college honors should be about college acconplishment and team worth. It's all about NBA for a lot of these guys. If it makes everyone feel better, Cytwins is still arguing Garza isn't first team all big 10 right now.
He’s paid to troll Iowa fans. Not sure why anyway pays attention. If it makes everyone feel better, Cytwins is still arguing Garza isn't first team all big 10 right now.
