Leading liberal council woman disbands police dept to protect herself and drug dealing son

Disbanding an entire police department because a councilwoman and her son cannot seem to obey the law may seem extreme, but in Obama’s America where police have been villainized, it wouldn’t be all that shocking.


The St. Louis suburb of Wellston, Missouri no longer has a police department and some are blaming a city councilwoman’s personal mission to protect her self-confessed drug dealing son as the reason.

On Monday, all 23 officers on the force discovered that they had lost their jobs, the locks on the police station had been changed and they were forced to turn in their guns and badges, Fox 2 St. Louis reported.

Tensions have been mounting between the town’s police department and councilwoman Janet Dixon after police raided the home of her son Terrance Dixon in late 2013, according to LEO News.

Shortly after the raid, three of the police officers involved, including the officer who captured Dixon on tape confessing to dealing drugs out of his home, were fired by the city council, LEO News reported.

The firings were reversed and soon after, police were called to a domestic violence situation where Terrence Dixon was again arrested and the officer who made the arrest was, again, fired.
Wellston Police Chief G.T. Walker had a much different take on why the department was disbanded. He claims that it was Calling it a direct result of “dirty politics,” that the department was disbanded, Walker claims claiming that Dixon herself led the charge to disband the department after the arrests of her son and herself following her son’s arrest and her own.

One of the other Councilwomean, Linda Garner, strongly opposed the move to disband the department, telling reporters that she was angry that the vote seemed to be made in extreme haste and without opening discussion with the public.

The chickens have come home to roost in the St. Louis area, I wonder how well those who hate on the police will sleep knowing they are on their own now much like the vermin in Baltimore.

What I have gathered. Wellston has a population of around 2300, and is one of the poorest cities in Missouri. Per capita income is around 6300. They had around 21 police officers which were paid 12 dollars an hour and had to supply their own weapons and ammunition. It does seem like there is a lot corruption at the city level. The policing of Wellston is now contracted from Vinita Park. Vinita Park will be looking to hire ten more to their force.

The town looks like a mess, but I don't expect much of ghettos.



I am curious as to why such a small poor black town contracting out their police force in the St Louis area is a story that conservative and tinfoil sites are running with?

Sorry to interrupt the right wing circle jerk for some facts.

The St. Louis County prosecutor, the Wellston mayor, the City Council, and the town residents are in favor of disbanding the police department ... and it has nothing to do with a council member's idiot kid. Wellston's police department has disbanded before, in 1992.

And for the same reason - it's because the town doesn't have the money to pay a stand alone police force. It's the same problem with all the north county small towns and municipalities. Wellston is 1 square mile - you can't fund city services for 1 square mile, in a poor neighborhood, because of economies of scale. Wellston will use Vinita Park's force for now, and, my bet, eventually St. Louis County police will (again) take over (or have to take over), like they did in 1992.

The long term plan here, coming out of the Ferguson Commission, is to eliminate many of the small police forces (and small courts) from north county - police departments that have their own serious corruption issues - and replace them with St. Louis County police officers.

That's not my opinion. It is what the prosecutor, the mayor, and 5 people on the city council have stated. Not to mention most of the north county leaders are in favor of adopting the Ferguson Commission recommendations.

If a dreg can become POTUS (and appoint other dregs to top spots thruout the executive branch) then a dreg can get elected to a city council. The real question is why are people electing criminals to powerful positions everywhere? Oh I forgot, welfare has created a super-army of lazy, left-wing, criminal-minded parasites.
