Lets talk about how the United States spends our money

Maybe a little but the first two aren't always being linked to mental health. Especially when we're talking about homeless children. They didn't do anything but be born into this circumstance.
Agree about the homeless children but the vast majority of the homeless today are battling drug addiction rather than having a tough time

Can I see the stats on this? Or is just your "educated" guess?
Come on doc…

Think about how much better off we would be, if we focused on our own people.

Health
Economy
Wealth
Crime Rates

All would be so much better.

In 2 years, we have sent 2 billion dollars to Ukraine. I am not saying it's the wrong call, I honestly don't know if it is or isnt.
I agree completely. Others can probably think of more but I know we have spent our tax dollars over the years to pay for Russia to dismantle old nuclear weapons. How much have we sent to the Saudi's over the last 20 years? Americans foot the bill for things all over the globe but when we crazy "socialists" want our tax dollars to stay home and cut prices on health care and go towards cutting poverty levels in order to lower crime rates we just get told we don't have the money. We do so much wrong.

Maybe Biden can kick start his 2024 campaign with a new agenda on slimming down the black female population. I’m sure it will go over swimmingly

It'll never change.

But we would be able to help other countries and the world more, if America was healthy and happier.
This Ukraine War is a perfect example. Helping them is the right, American thing to do. My first thought when I hear the numbers of how much we're spending is "There's billions more that gets us further and further away from a health care system I want here." One that people don't have to go broke when they get sick or choose over rent or drugs.

The "we can't afford it" is such bullshit.

Guess what, if we are healthier, more people are working, wages are higher, more taxes, more money is being spent.

I've argued it for years on here. Then I get the Republicans' concern about the doctors' pay or the poor insurance people who will suddenly be out of work. I think the doctors will do just fine.

The drugs come first.
Not always. You might want to look up what "vast majority" means. You are incorrect about their drug abuse.

I'm not saying drugs/homelessness aren't connected...but the majority of the people living on the streets are NOT addicts.

I think its time to prioritize what is good for Americans over what is good for the politicians. Our political system is broken and the future doesn't look any better.

This has something that has bothered me for a long time.

I kind of understand why, but it still puzzles me how we can spend billions(trillions?) on a war that is not ours, yet we have:

Such high levels of homelessness
High levels of drug & alcohol abuse
Horrible mental health
Horrible obesity rates

Why are we not pumping that money into helping our own people?

The more health people the United States has, the better of we are as a whole.
i'm assuming we are talking about the ukraine war. if so us taxpayer load is almost certainly in billions, likely single digit or teens max. if the payoff arrives let's say even in terms of less misinformation it would indirectly alleviate (to some extent) some of your points.

but yes, spending like we did in iraq was a poor choice unless someone has explained otherwise.

I would argue our spending on stuff for other countries is astronomical, war or not.
