On the Minnesota page, Duwa is on a list of Top Ten recruits most likely to sign with the Gophers.
I've liked Duwa since seeing his video. Like his motor and quickness. Wonder if the Hawks might pull the trigger on him soon or if they are waiting for someone else to commit.

Just speculation on my part but I think the staff will make him an offer in the summer. We can't let the good instate kids end up at another B1G program.

Rivals lists him at DR 6ft2 225 lbs. Can he play LB in college?

Hawks look pretty stacked at DE for the next 3 years or so. Always room for talent though - hopefully Iowa can land DE Andrew Van Ginkel who is transferring from USD after being named Missouri Valley freshman POY.

He's 6'3" and he played at 230-235 this year, he has been holding his weight down for wrestling reasons(state runnerup at 225 this year). When he tries to put on weight, he has the frame to put on 30+ lbs of good weight pretty quickly.

He's a violent pass rusher who had his hand on the ground on almost every play so I don't see him playing any LB position, at Iowa anyway. I could see him at DE or as a Mitch King/Karl Klug style quick DT.

I'd that the one thing that really needs to be worked on is better nutrition. I watched him play a bunch this year and he had cramping issues throughout the year. He is playing both ways and punting so it's not totally surprising, but there is clearly room for improvement on the nutrition front.

The good news is that he is an explosive, violent, pass rusher, and the nutrition programs that are now allowed at the college level will be awesome for him. I would absolutely love to see him at Iowa.

Good post Bob, According to what I've been reading Iowa is talking to him constantly. Maybe they want to see him in camp. My guess an offer will come...too good to pass on. I agree he is a violent pass rusher.

Lots of contact with Iowa (and many others). He actually just received a letter from Maryland wrestling, and has had contact from Pac-12 and SEC schools for track. He is planning on making the move to heavyweight next year. It was an easy cut for him this year 227 to 220 (compared to last year dropping from about 215 to 195) but I know he wants to strap on the feed bag and continue to hit the weight room. I feel, based on the measurables of current targets, they are envisioning him as a DT...though I believe he's been told LB might not be out of the question either. He does have some experience as a LB, played there until his sophomore year. He has the body type and athleticism to where he could project to several positions. He'll be in Minneapolis this weekend for the Gopher spring game.

There is something about this kid that makes me think he is gonna be a good one. I just wish he was a skill player, it seems we are loaded at dline.

This man knows what he is talking about for real, I know who he is although I doubt he knows me. I was off on my weight numbers because I had heard that he cut in the 7-8 lb range and I thought the weight class was 225 rather than 220.

Great to hear that he will be at heavyweight next year, will be interesting to see how much good weight he can put on between now and August without that 220 constraint.

I think I do know who you are, but we've never been introduced. You hit the nail on the head about nutrition. He absolutely has the body to add a lot of good weight, and he's not done growing yet.

I'm the guy that talks to Turtle after games, I'll say hi sometime.

To be clear to everyone on the nutrition stuff, I don't mean it to bash Levi at all. I'm pointing it out more as evidence of upside, something that Doyle and co. would definitely fix. I'm guessing lots of top HS athletes have suspect nutrition at this point. Levi is playing both ways at DE/TE/WR/Punter. The combination of battling OTs in the trenches, blocking run plays, then splitting out and running WR routes, has to take it out of you and he's still an absolute monster between the cramping issues he had.
