What was that in the Semi’s??? No energy or anything, but after he wins, he gets up and flexes and screams toward the crowd?????

Very weird. I hate that celebration after dogging it for the last 3 mins of that match. To me that was pathetic. The Se-po wrestler lost his mind trying to attack and really gave up 6 pts he shouldn’t have.

That was one of the most bizarre matches I have ever seen. A midget wrestling a guy who looked 6'5". The tall kid (lewis) looked like he was suffering from some sort of metabolic crisis. I honest thought he was going to collapse unconscious. Just bizzare. Reminded me of a Nacho Libre wrestling match.

He was cutting him, just walked into a double leg and fell to his butt and that turned the match. If he would have stayed away cutting, he would have won

The ref had already awarded the escape. Lewis was still on his hands and knees with his head down. The SEP kid just stared at him instead of simply going behind him for an easy 2. It was all so bizarre.

I think there was confusion as to whether the ref awarded an escape point or a stalling point. Either way, it drives me crazy watching wrestlers waste 10-15 seconds pushing on a guys head when he's trying to cut him. Just fn' cut the guy!

It was crazy because he went from being fine to totally gassed. He was one stall away from dq.
The refs had to delay the match while they had their heads removed from their arses by the scoring table. That 15-30 seconds was what he needed to get through the last 25 seconds. And seemingly gave him the energy to talk trash and flex after the worst winning performance of the tournament. OK second worse, the Ames 195 is in the running.

Coach Manning would have been pleased with that table timeout.

Maybe he was trying to get inside Keuter's head. :) Give him a false sense of security and then Lewis will unleash holy heck on Keuter in the finals. Just kidding of course.
I know the kid and the staff over there at Dubuque and they have basically taken a kid who would probably be in jail right now and given him some goals and a place to focus his energy. Lewis is a great kid with -let's just call it - a not so great home life before coming to Dubuque. The struggles he is facing in his own mind are ones we probably never will know. He is really a pretty awesome and funny kid.
That wasn't the best showing or look for Jo Jo, but he is dealing with the pressure in the best way he can. He will be a good citizen someday and that is an accomplishment right there, considering where he came from.

This is good stuff. Can you elaborate further?

That's a great thing they are doing. Hope the best for him.

No. Leave his personal life battles alone. Go buy a tabloid magazine if you want dirt.

Who wants dirt? Where are you even getting that from? There’s apparently a great story here about what wrestling and teachers/coaches have done for a kid so I’d love to hear more. What’s his history in wrestling, where’s he from, other activities, where’s he headed, etc. God forbid we share more about such a positive story.

Who asked you, anyway? If lookleft declines to share more, fine. Is there a reason you got involved or are you just playing message board virtue warrior?

This board was always dumb AF but since HR left it’s like the idiots took stupid pills.

I do not want to give any personal info on the kid. But what the staff at Dubuque has done should get them a pass into heaven. They have been patient and helpful and still set boundaries with Jo Jo. He was always a good kid, but good kids can get into trouble without guidance. The real reason people coach is to have the kind of impact they have had on Jo Jo on as many kids as possible.

I’ll just add by my estimate 3 out of 5 people are already in fact idiots….. maybe more….. possibly as high as 6 out of 10
