Stanford Predictions/Thoughts

I think Cali slows it down a little against Garvin but does win comfortably. Stanford does have another listed at 165 as possibility. Hypothetical, if Garvin should get upset by Euton tonight, do they sit him rather than risk a third loss early?

I have wondered since his first loss if they will put him out there against MC. A couple early losses won't do anything for his confidence, but that is a loser mentality so hopefully not.

For the most part Caliendo doesn't slow down. I bet he still let's it fly. Garvin may score on him that way, but I think Caliendo is confident in his ability score often

If Garvin pushes the pace, I think Cali will be fine with that but otherwise I think he may wrestle more controlled so as not to give up the big moves. I think Cali gets a takedown in each period regardless of pace.

It appears the coaches at ISU did a piss poor job getting their guys prepped for the season.

Just a little surprised so many guys aren't prepared to wrestle at the weights they're expected to compete at...
And after 8 years, no depth at so many weights.
I'm sure that lineup looks different in March, but imagine the poor fans that paid to watch that shitshow vs Stanford?
Has Dresser adopted the John Smith approach of having too many guys cutting too much weight?

Bastida is very tough to score on, he moves really well even as big as he is now. Ben needs to push the pace, he needs to get to both legs and finish quickly. There is a reason he was #2 going into the NCAAs last year, big test for Ben.
Can't imagine the Cuban will be in match shape if that's his first match.

Excellent point of pushing pace and wearing him down in third period.

If I'm a Clone fan, which fortunately I'm not, this plan of having all these guys making huge weight cuts is a recipe for injury.

We'll know in March if the Iowa wannabees made the right decisions, but it's a huge gamble to go that route. A calculated goal so they can finish a 1/2 point ahead of Iowa again???
