life on the defense without Ott.

and JR threw for over 3000 yards and his best game he threw for 6 TD's, 440 yards and ran for 78 yards in 1 game, and the mighty CJ didn't break a 100 TWICE, the 2nd time vs a defense that was giving up a avg of 292 ypg and ended up 122nd, Michigan didn't even have a decent running game.

so yeah I would have taken JR every time.

And you wonder why people don't take you serious. All you look at is stars rankings when players were 18 HS kids, height/weight & stats. Re watch the games basically every game the announcers and analyst (who all know more about football than you) agreed and praised KF for his decision to go with Beathard over Rudock and all the intangibles CJ brought to the team.

I can basically speak for almost everyone when I say absolutely no one missed your post here except the times someone needed a good laugh.[/QUOTE]

Yeah I'm a troll cause I think CJ, who lead Iowa to 12-0 and west division title, is better than the guy who quit Iowa after finishing the previous year 6-5 to play at Michigan. And just remember how many injuries Iowa had on the line and missing duzey for year and tevuan multiple games vs rudock who had 2 NFL tackles and really Iowa had no one really miss significant time minus canzeri last year here. Then again you probably don't even know what troll means in your reference. But I'm sure rudock appreciates all the love and support you still give him.

Aaron Mends is pretty fast for a LB. After this past year's Super Bowl, it would be nice if we sent our super speedy LBers after the QB a few times, a la Vonn Miller.

Shouldn't we be trying to recruit guys like Vonn Miller? He totally dominated that game. Nothing kills the other team's offensive drive faster than a sack.

I really don't recall - maybe Denver plays more of a 3-4 defense? Which lends itself more to speedy OLB, but relying on our 4 guys up-front to get sacks is a tall order. Now if your front 4 are as gifted as Clayborn, Ballard, Daniels and Binns - you can get to the QB - but I don't see that kind of athleticism in Hesse, Johnson, Bazata and either Nelson. Maybe they are ... I don't know. I have been wrong before...

Maybe there are some Pass-rush specialists that can come in for the Raider package that I don't know about. Anybody have insight on that?

Here is an idea: put in the tape of Stanford's pass rush against the Hawks in the Rose Bowl! Copy that!

I recall Neimann having a free shot at the opposing QB a few times last season on some well-timed blitzes. Almost every time he got 'alligator arms' and the QB was able to duck his shoulder and get out of Ben's grasp and scramble for yards or a 1st down. I'm sure some film study and some further coaching will fix that as we head into 2016.
