Credit to Debbie for sagging off knowing that we didn't have any shooting ability tonight but that can't happen.

The 3 point shooting was one of the worst displays I have ever seen and I coach jr high basketball. Heck, my girls were 4-9 tonight.

Toussaint and Connor got into it with the Nebby players when up 1 and promptly went down 6. I love Joe T's toughness but knowing when to talk would be helpful.

Iowa will not play that bad again this year, there is no way. Let's hope for a better result at home on Friday.

Not sure who else can really be called on at this point.
In the Penn St. game they got 46 points from their bench and we got 8(Kriener). In tonight's game Nebby got 12 points from their bench and we got 4(Pemsl). Bakari didn't score tonight and as I've said, Cordell had only the 4. Without the services of CJ for who knows how long, we need more production from our tiny sized bench.
Definitely paid the price for so many missed 3's(12%) to theirs(38.5%)..I agree that Bakari needs to do better along with Cordell. The only cure seems to be getting CJ back. I'm not saying that we're on life support, but the outcome is not very bright at least in the short-term.

That we literally could not play worse. We could have shot 2 of 33 from 3 and lost by 12, for example.

Fair enough but I don't believe you will see stats as bad as tonight the rest of the way. Maybe we lose by more against other teams but the shooting percentages will not be that bad.

It's almost impossible to shoot as poorly from three as Iowa did last night. I mean, 12%!? How many teams ever do that? Did Kennesaw State shoot that poorly against Iowa?

And the incredibly poor shooting last night had almost nothing to do with the defense. At least 85% of Iowa's threes were wide open or minimally contested. The ball simply would not go in. It was somewhat the opposite of the shooting night DePaul had against Iowa. Whatever they launched that night was going in, and there was nothing that could be done about it. Last night nothing Iowa shot was going in, and there was nothing that could be done about it. It was an anomaly. No team with Iowa's talent that has so many clean looks will ever shoot 12%. But it happened.

Time to move on and hope the Carver crowd can generate some home court advantage to help the Hawks put Lincoln behind them and flip those turtles on their backs.

If Maryland tries the Nebby strategy Friday night, I think they're gonna get burned. Beat Maryland, and go from there.

We miss CJ's spacing badly and defense but I agree with OP. Here are 3 point %s of remaining guys: Garza 34.2, Wieskamp 37.8, Kriener 37.5, Connor 31.8, Evelyn 31.8. None of those are stellar but even if we shoot 33% on a nightly basis, we can score 80+. We would have won soundly even going 8 of 33 the other night, especially if they had gone down early and Fred had to abandon that junk defense. He took a gamble that would work 5% of time and he won. I still think the hangover of the Palestra and illness was a huge factor.

That was a tough game for the Hawks. They just couldn't get the 3-point shots to drop. My son and I were amazed how they were so wide open and couldn't make the shots. It's like Nebraska was focused on shutting us down inside and daring us to shoot from the perimeter. Normally that would be a huge mistake but it worked against Nebraska. We should have destroyed the Huskers if those shots were hitting the mark.
