Liked the series but thought it had a Hallmark vibe. That said, It’s been many years and might watch again with my 11 year old. Not sure if appropriate at his age? IMBD says there is frequent male frontal nudity and multiple sex scenes between 2-3 men at a time. Don’t recall those parts.

Book was epic and portrayed their harsh life and experience.

There was a Weiner exposed as one of the cowboys was barebacking his horse coming out of the river. I think it was opening scene Episode 2.
The "sex scene" was probably when Lori got used by the outlaw gang. It didn't show it, just alluded to it

I wanted to like Lonesome Dove because Westerns are my favorite genre, but I just didnt like it very much. It was too "for TV" and seemed watered down.
