Looks like karchinski has verbally committed.*

Check out @marcmorehouse’s Tweet:

Welcome aboard young man. May you be motivated every day by those clowns in Ames. I hope you personally bring the nasty every chance you get against them.

Anybody know where the Hawks project him at? Is he thought to be a LDE? ... a future DT? Perhaps an O-lineman? With that body-type ... I could see him having some position flexibility.

Welp... that's OK... have seen him competitively and was underwhelmed, as you know.

Welcome aboard Jake!

Hope he goes off on that ISU assistant coach once his career is over like a certain ex Hawkeye/Illinois home grown man child as I’ve been underwhelmed by ISU for a long time now.

If all he does his whole career is make sure Iowa doesn't lose to ISU. I'd be fine with that. Also love getting all these Big10 caliber players out of Wisconsin after being snubbed by the UW.

Kar-ching!

Bang Bang! We got another hardworking Wisconsin kid. I'm thinking the Polasek connections are paying dividends. Welcome aboard Jake.

It seems polasek is looking for those under the radar guys that Reese Morgan is good at identifying.. hoping his ability is just as good as Morgan.

I am going to do the exact thing I have poked fun at people on here doing but........

I think this is a kid they are looking at to add a bunch of weight and change positions. I just dont see the burst on the film we see out of the DE's we have been getting. Me thinks this kid disappears for a couple years and ends up a DT if he sees the field.

It's ok, you can call me a hypocrite. Maybe someone else sees something I dont.

It's not really a bad thing though. It's usually the guys who were quick from the outside in HS, but not quick enough in college, so they slide them in where they might have a quickness advantage still. I did the same thing in college, I just sped up the process by hitting the cafeteria too often...

I'm split ... when I watched his film, it looked like he was playing some assignment football ... and making sure he was staying in his lane. What we may have perceived as lack of explosiveness from the line of scrimmage may have been more of a vestige of him reading and reacting. I'm not certain ... but the coaches liked him enough to offer ... so I'm perfectly happy to defer to their judgement.

Why do people who subscribe to this site don’t know the difference from committed and signed?

I think almost all know the difference. It's a college football fan board where posters get excited every signing day. People type in sign when they mean commit, they are happy for the new guy. Granted that commits can change their minds. If Bucky offers Jake hopefully he tells them them thanks but no thanks like Stanley did. And Iowa has a better QB than Wisconsin.

My uneducated guess is that he starts out at DE as a true freshman, may move to DT after Chris Doyle gets a year with him. Wasn't-drunk, I'm with you on criticism of posters who always predict position changes before the young Hawkeye even gets to campus. Agree with you on this one though.

That said, maybe he will be an All-Big Ten DE. What he heck do I know.

Nothing wrong with an honest evaluation. Hard for some around here to swallow. I agree this has to be a dt in the making.

Dont get me wrong. I do think if they can get him up to weight he could be very athletic for a DT if he can keep leverage. I hope all these guys turn into all Americans. I would love to come back in a couple years and say "holy cow I was wrong about Kar at DE this guys a stud" I just think it's more likely at DT. If there are 2 places KF and crew have earned an unlimited credit line though its Linemen and DB.

I understand what you're saying. It's all about the position a player ends up. I see potential at dt not near as much at de which is fine. Nothing wrong with that opinion. For example, I'm excited about Jack Plumb at ot not as a te. No real Hawkeye would cheer against a kid in order to prove his point.

Some breakdown on Karchinski here. Could get moved could stay at DE. We'll see what Doylization does once here gets here.
