LSU Women losing again?

I seldom watch women's BB, except some Iowa games. The little I have seen LSU, Angel looks a little heavier and slower. Maybe stardom has gone to her head so much that she has gotten a little lazy. Coach Mularky should see that and fix it, if true...
I've kind of noticed that as well. I wouldn't call her lazy, she's always been more of a physical presence and rebounder and scorer w/in 7-10 feet. Everyone is gunning for them right now just like they are Iowa and S Carolina. A sellout crowd at Mississippi St for a women's game? That was a great environment. Every game is a circus for them just like us. If you don't play well you're going to lose. Unfortunately I still think they're so talented that they'll be there in the end. Maybe not. Like Mulkey or not she's won a few championships. But they are seriously depth challenged as well.

To be fair, Mississippi State has recent success. They were in the Final Four for two consecutive years a few years ago. So they do have a lot of fans.

One-legged sleeve and rolled up trunks slowed down Angel tonight!

hate to see it.

Point being they had 1500 fans for the Florida game previous to this one. And 2600 for the Arkansas. So while they've had a pretty good history playing LSU, Iowa, S Carolina brings attendance.

I agree with you about Reese. I don’t have a problem with their team at all (outside of Mulkey, she is a garbage human being) but to me, Reese looks a little heavier and slower. She is still a load in the paint but something didn’t look right to me last night. They aren’t a very good shooting team so if Iowa were to have a rematch, I think you will see us employ a similar strategy as we used against South Carolina last year.

I noticed in a late TO that Reese and Mulkey were having a conversation like Reese didn't necessarily agree and when they broke, Reese grabbed an LSU player and was telling her something, like maybe, this is what we're going to do. Probably not, but I wouldn't doubt it.

They miss shit tons of layups, at least they did in the South Carolina game and now this, Mississippi State game, which I’m assuming is probably why their offensive rebounding/2nd chance baskets are their claim to fame…

But overall they’re not a great defensive team, they’re not a great total rebounding team, they’re not overly quick, they don’t shoot particularly great, and they are not good from the three-point line at all….

Now. they could put it all together, but they’re also not deep which means they will always have tired legs in the second half and foul trouble will kill them… All in all a very beatable team.

All that said… I really don’t have a problem with them, however, with big mouths, come big expectations… So they’re kind of getting what they gave, and Mulky, at times I have admired her for saying what she thinks, but recently I’ve just come to the point that she is so full of shit. I can’t hardly stand to hear what she has to say… And that standing 4 foot on the court thing is complete and utter bullshit….

I’ve always been a what’s right is right and what’s fair is fair kind of guy, as a sidenote, probably why I get a little irritated about people constantly complaining about coaches on here, when quite frankly, all these coaches have faults, but there is no way in hell somebody should be able to stand on the court and not get called….WTH!?!

She's so freaking weird. I just don't get how people that play for her don't see it. I'm so glad we have Bluder! Malarky can coach, and very well, but honestly, I wouldn't want her anywhere near our program. She'd leave all kinds of stench on it.
Fricking planet of the ape's bitch.

Britney Griner is going to have her number retired at Baylor and I bet Mulkey won't be in attendance. She is really something else.

It’s like she is embracing the bimbo big hair stereotypes of the 80’s. It’s an embarrassing look that reminds me of an 80’s theme party.

It’s really weird to me. Different culture in the Deep South for sure.

I would beat Angel in a game of H-O-R-S-E and likely not lose the H. Her offensive skill set is awful. She's defends well and rebounds, scores on put backs after miss after miss after miss.

She and Morrow were 13/35.

She'd be great with a pg like CC22 setting her up for easy buckets but i don't see her falling in line to allow anyone else to get the spotlight. I doubt she does much at the next level as her size won't set her apart anymore.

Mulkey has to be in the running for worst coaching job of the year for what she has done with HVL. What a fall from grace that transfer turned out to be.
There does seem to be a disconnect for whatever reason. Not sure how much Hailey's foot issue has impacted her play, or conditioning.

It does appear to me that Jeff Walz did a better job managing Team Van Lith than LSU has.

I bet Van Lith is having some huge buyers remorse going to LSU about now. She is going to be the scapegoat when they don't make the sweet 16.
She’s having her worst season as a college player. Not even the 1 or 2 option on this team. Even as a freshman she was more productive but a lot has to do with her role now. She’s ineffective on LSU.

Honestly, as long as Malarky is allowed to walk on court (every single game on countless occasions), how can anyone respect women's basketball? All they'd have to do is T her up 27 or 28 times and she might start getting it. I bet she'd stop doing it eventually. How is anyone supposed to respect the sport? She does more harm than good imo. Why are refs doing nothing? I don't see other coaches allowed the same leeway, what's so special about her?

It honestly makes it hard for me to care knowing that double standards are allowed and teams like Iowa will never be the ones benefitting from any of it. Seems crazy that they don't care. It's commented on a lot as it is via social media but it's like a running joke where everyone knows nothing will be done. It's laughable and makes WBB kind of a joke truthfully. I mean, she doesn't even hide it. She just does it seemingly every play.

For what she's done with that entire team. With that superteam of all star transfers LSU has zero excuse for not going wire-to-wire #1 and undefeated. Instead, they've lost to two unranked teams, lol.

I predict they’ll figure it out, Mulkey is too good a coach, but that short bench and poor shooting won’t go away…it’s what they are. I’m assuming Van Lith will get it going to but they just don’t shoot well as a team

She should come to Iowa and have CC play one more year....talk about assists and points between those 2!

Just saw this week’s USA Today’s women’s coaches poll, LSU (18-4) is ranked 11th, while Louisville (18-3), is ranked 12th.

HVL has to be rethinking her transfer decision several times a day. If she’d stayed at Louisville they’d likely be in the top 10, she’d be getting more minutes, points, assists, etc., and receiving all-American discussion, and most importantly, be much happier. Right now she looks miserable most of the time.

Starting to believe she needs to be the show, and I don’t mean that in a negative way. Some people need the ball in their hands.

Even though her and Clark are kind of friends I'm sure she'd rather have the ball , and be the show. We'll see how these gals coexist at the next level.....

Someone has to press the issue and just run right into her. The refs would have to make a call for sure. Maybe that would take care of her standing so far on the court.

Yes and I’m going to tell you something, they have a very talented 5 man team, but they’re not deep at all… They only play seven girls, and I think the two bench players don’t play a ton and although they’re supposedly very athletic team, they’re not really all that super quick, they’re not a dominating rebounding team they’re not a particularly great shooting team for as big as they are and they’re a pretty poor three-point shooting team and Hailey Van Leith is really struggling….

Even though we had a bunch of fans upset during our Ohio State game… Right now you have to say South Carolina is the best team, and then, in my mind it’s Kansas State and Iowa… Those Pac 12 teams are pretty good, but they’ve also had plenty of losses, some head scratching🤷‍♂️

I bet Van Lith regrets transferring there. They don't really pass her the ball even when she's wide open.
