Lucy Olsen had a day...and is this week's B1G & National Player of the Week

Those announcers were bad!
Glad I watched without sound
Jason Benetti has the reputation of being an outstanding broadcaster, especially for MLB, so I was surprised and disappointed at his performance on Sunday. And his partner was no better. A game and an atmosphere like that to work with, and that's what they give us? What a shame.

Thought they did a great job. Geesh, you guys get a (near) completely Iowa biased broadcast playing the #4 team in the country-- including announcers, and with Caitlin Clark for five minutes, and you aren't happy? Not sure how you can hope for much better.

February 10 Lucy Olsen postgame comment:
Q: What’s an angry Lucy Olsen look like? You’ve always got a smile on your face.
Lucy: I usually laugh when I’m angry, so you can’t tell when I’m angry.

Q: Do you get frustrated with the fouls
Lucy: Yeah, you just have to stay in the circle, laugh it off… keep controlling what you can control.

Just this morning, I learned that Lucy started every game she played during her college career. Last night was her 127th game and 127th start. She is 122 points away from 2000.
I’ve wondered when the last time Caitlin Clark (and other sports prodigies) last didn’t start a game. Clark not only started every college game, she missed none because of injury. Did she play in and start every high school game? I’d guess that she didn’t start in some national teams, maybe.

I would be surprised if CC did not start every high school and AAU game. I know she did not always start on national teams while in high school.

Here is a game from 2019. Paige Bueckers and Haley VanLith were the guards that started the game. Jaz Shelly started for Australia.

In tonight's 81-66 win at Little Debbie, here were Lucy's stats:

Played ALL 40 minutes.

4-7 (57%) from three
8-13 (62%) from 2 pt range
........................................................
12-20 (60%) Overall shooting

4-8 (50%) FTs

32 Points
7 Assists (3 turnovers)
6 Defensive rebounds
2 Steals

0 Blocks
Maybe she should use a jump shot on her free throws..
