I see on the 247 predictions someone predicted him to go Iowa. 6'10 & 240. He's a 4 star on ESPN and a 3* on Rivals. Anybody have any more info on him?

I just googled him...
He re-tweeted two tweets about IA beating MSU + one from Tom about a game played by Garza himself. I also saw the headline of a premium content article that says he calls "Fran McCaffrey legendary".

He may be correct - looks like he's been retweeting several Iowa related tweets lately, including one with a photo of Woody in action against MSU - and Woody's role is the role he'd have at Iowa (although his offensive game is better, etc).

Big, thick body. Decent mid-range touch and seems to box out well, but can't jump...like at all. Would fill the Woody void...
Sometimes if there are four other athletes on a team to play defense it is good to have a Mark Eaton type in the middle...holding up his hands and not jumping...just clogging things up.

Yeah, a big guy that can't move can still be used to defend, like vs a team like Purdue that Iowa will soon face. This Garza kid at only 6'10, sounds like a shooter, but I would worry about a guy that lacks athleticism being able to get his shot off and defend at college level. That said, I haven't seen him play and only have the post that post about him having zero hops to go by.
Not disputing the point you bring up. Woody is sort of Iowa's Mark Eaton. It's good to have Woody for some match ups, but he is never going to dominate the game on either offense or defense.
You should look up Eaton's stats sometime. He blocked a lot of shots and was a definite defensive presence inside that Woody just isn't.
Hassan Whiteside is averaging like 4 blocks per game yet the Heat are statistically a better defensive team with him on the bench. Big man defense is all about positioning and making the offense force up bad shots. The concern with not being able to jump is rebounding and finishing near the rim.
Did you watch Eaton play? He was big and controlled the paint. I agree blocks can be misleading but Eaton in his prime was a defensive force.
Not trying to be the expert here and you are reading too much into my post. I meant Woody as a true big does give us an added flexibility defensively, like Eaton had defensive presence. I was not trying to compare the two. Woody clearly doesn't block shots and Eaton did. My guess is Woody will not make it in NBA because he lacks hops and reach.
Is #10 a D1 recruit? He looked good in the first video and was guarding the other team's best player who was 6 inches taller. I like how that team actually ran some offense.
Thanks for the vids Hackeysack. The first one shows really good hands and use of his body for offensive positioning in the post. Best I've seen for a while at Iowa. Beginning of the 2nd one shows that Garza has a pretty good 15fter in his arsenal, but he's definitely a post player. He's not a big jumper or shot blocker.
