Has Iowa a #5 in...Spokane and ISU a #5 in Denver.

He has UNI...which has beaten both North Carolina and Iowa State and beaten Wichita State twice as a #14 against Indiana in Des Moines.

Meanwhile, he has Wichita State a #7 ... and Wichita has beaten absolutely NO ONE. Wichita doesn't even belong in the field, let alone at a #7. I'd question it even if they were in the first four play-in deal.

Of course, there are still lots of games left in the conference tourneys, but I can only hope the committee isn't as loony as Lunardi. And there are many more examples, but this is ridiculous.

Lunardi's love fest with WSU is baffling. They're destined for Dayton at best and even then, they probably don't deserve it.

And I wouldn't want UALR. They play a super grinding slow down style like UNI that always gives us fits.

I know what Wichita State does NOT have, which is nine sub-100 RPI losses (they have 1) or three sub-200 RPI losses. yikes.

I guess the good news for UNI is that they don't have to face any more cupcakes? A 14-seed would be generous for them.

I was under the impression that the MVC would be a one bid league based on the 10 people I have heard say that in the last two weeks. I would not get why WSU would make it in.

No way Wichita State is a 7. They're pretty much a 50/50 to make the field and if they do they're at about an 11.

Wichita State is going to be an interesting case, because much of the damage on their record was done with their best player out. Supposedly the committee will factor that in if the player is healthy, which he has been for a couple of months.

I know their RPI is questionable, but the other metrics (which the committee does use) are very favorable. Kenpom has them #11. Sagarin has them #24. I think Lunardi is probably right on with them.

Wichita State has a decent resume but it won't wow anyone either. They held serve at home with only 1 loss to UNI. Their OOC SOS is 21st. Their marquee win is over Utah. Other than that they haven't beaten anyone. They don't really have any bad losses, either. I think they can get it but are by no means a lock. They need to hope a lot of bids aren't stolen in conference tourney play.
