Until I heard that podcast, I didn’t realize he missed his senior year. Thought he was only out last year. Will be interesting to see how much he improves during the season, assuming he gets the nod. VV still will get most of the matches until second semester, unless they give a few to Block. I know they would like him to go 141 next year, but he’s already very tall for a light weight.

I for one am willing to contribute to a fund for participation ribbons and counseling for anyone who was triggered by the experience.
My wife would never schedule something like that on a wrestling day. She knows she'd be disappointed or on her own. She might run the show most of the year, but during wrestling season she checks the schedule before planning anything. If our son was wrestling, we'd both be there.
The wife told me about a wedding we had to go to about six months ago. She reminded me during the summer and about a month. Of course it was during Luther (I usually go), Arizona vs Colorado, and the one time that Iowa decides to score more than 20 points in a game and have over 400 yards of offense while pitching a shut out. Oh well...she hardly ever asks me to do this kind of thing and supports my wrestling addiction.
And besides, she is a General.
My weak ass observations from the cheap seats...
1. Pretty obvious why TnT went hard after Nagao. Hawks not getting much from 133 this season.
2. Really need to have Gabe get mat time before Xmas. That includes the Clone dual.
3. Caliendo will be the 165 all season and I'd love to know how PK vs Gabe would go. Cause I could see a scenario where PK doesn't win the spot at 165 or 174.
4. And since I need to start my anti Clone schitck early, even with the suspensions...Hawks win that dual.

Luckily Gabe has a redshirt to use, so if PK better than Riggins at 174, problem solved. Getting Gabe and PK in line up next year will only happen if Angelo Ferrari red shirts. Then the next year when PK and Caliendo are seniors, someone will sit, much like Cash Wilke. did his senior year after being a multi year starter.
Yeah I see it a bit different. We'll see how the season goes before we write off old PK. Caliendo should look good against the opponents he's faced so far...and I'm glad we have them both.
A couple of obscure feats by a couple of the backups Saturday…
184 lber, Aidan McCain beat a guy named Abe Michel of Loras 16-12…. He was very happy about this and rightfully so because Abe beat him last year and he wanted to get that one back…. Nice little reflection that gains are being made in the room across the board with the team.
Also, 165 lb backup, Drake Rhodes beat a stud 2nd year D2 guy from MN State Mankato named Kole Marko 14-2. Just two years ago Marko became a 4X Wisconsin HS State Champ…. And he also beat the returning D2 National Champion from Upper Iowa, Chase Luensman! Two nice wins there.

I was impressed with Drake Rhodes, he has some nice talent. Jace Rhodes has really exceeded my expectations as well, he wrestles hard. I was also really impressed with Koye Grebel and Isaiah Fenton. Koye was really up a weight and was really putting up the points with nice top work until losing a close match in the final to a guy that had a huge size advantage on him. Fenton also had really nice top work.
You are a moron. Iowa comes over as a favor for the small colleges in the State. Iowa baseball does the same.
Get a clue.
