MAGA ❄️ reaction to the Orange Fuehrer being held accountable

If a Democrat had been indicted on 37 counts including espionage, you’d be screaming from your high horse on Fox News.

YOU’RE the one making this political.

What you need to do, J.D, is to read the indictment, then when you’re finished, read it again.

When you’re done a second time, delete your Twitter.

This is absolutely true

Joe Biden CANNOT direct law enforcement to do this.
Nor did he.
The level of logic twisting MAGAT's do never fails to surprise me. There are pictures of the documents. There is video of people taking the documents and putting them in Mar-a-lago. There is video of the documents being removed from Mar-a-lago and a search warrant to go with it. Trump himself acknowledges that he had the documents. Numerous random people with no security clearance at all admit that they were shown these highly sensitive documents and disclose some details about what they saw on a nationally broadcast show.

Yet, it's the DoJ being "weaponized" and not "crimes were committed and are continuing to be committed" that they think is the reason Trump is going to be arrested.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know

Under the Presidential Records Act, “The United States shall reserve and retain complete ownership, possession, and control of Presidential Records.” archives.gov/about/laws/pre… Indeed, “the official records of the President and his staff are owned by the United States, not by the President” archives.gov/news/topics/pr…

I'm reminded, regularly now, of Schiff's words at the impeachment trial:

“He has betrayed our national security, and he will do so again. He has compromised our elections, and he will do so again,” he said. “You will not change him. You cannot constrain him. He is who he is.”

Nope; usually indictments merely lay out the accusations that they HAVE those details to back up.

The details come out at trial.

This was an unusual "speaking indictment", because Jack Smith KNEW things would be twisted and politicized, so he KNEW he needed to include that here before trial. And this was pointed out weeks ago, as well.

You had no need to "know" any of that; you were just defending the indefensible.

Insanity.

One would think they’d sit quietly and line up behind DeSantis.

But no, they need the clicks and the votes and the grift, so they go over the top trying to rile up the masses.

Mother****ers are playing with fire. Sickens me that they don’t care.
It's reminiscent of the Southern Firebreathers.

Some of these tweets are just so ... nonsensical. They think the country is being destroyed because a criminal is being held accountable. Isn't that what a free country is supposed to do?

If one of my OWN CHILDREN had done what is in the indictment, I too would be outraged ... AT MY CHILD!

Why are so many people defending him?

Why are so many people defending him?

Fundraising opportunities.

They don't care about America, or the Constitution or Rule of Law at all.

All they care about is getting more money off stupid people. Stupid people who are going to commit crimes in response to the disinformation and have their lives ruined because of it.

A 1/6 repeat.

One of the strategies for the Republicans for the past couple of decades has been to undermine the credibility of the media. To be fair the media hasn't helped themselves and most of the "news" consumed by the public isn't news at all. It isn't opinion either it is literally political advocacy.

This is not restricted to the conservatives but the conservatives are more invested in creating the perception that the media can't be trusted at all They have now transferred that to the justice department and the FBI. The end result is that people don't review anything with logic. Basically if something is incongruent with their ideology they're discard it as biased or from an unreliable source. Truth for the individual mostly comes from how close the reported facts fit their ideology not the nature of the reporting or the facts themselves. This affects people on both the right and the left but the right through Trump has created a base that cannot be swayed from their beliefs.

Yeah, fundraising for the political folks and fame/clicks for the media folks.

The guy has done nothing to be beloved by anyone, yet he is seen as the Mesiah for millions of Americans. He's part of the "elite" that couldn't care less about the average American, yet millions send him money. His own company defrauded the country by not paying required taxes. His "Foundation" was penalized and liquidated because it was just another source of money for the family. He ignored the emoluments clause of the constitution. He lost a civil suit claiming sexual abuse - dozens of other women have claimed similar actions, and he has bragged about his ability to abuse women and get away with it. He paid off porn stars to keep them quiet. The list is seemingly endless.

Now he's going to be indicted 4 times.

And millions of people love him and are willing to commit violence to defend him.

I. JUST. DON'T. GET. IT.

Ratings certainly is the primary force dictating the news from regular news sites however lets not pretend that the undermining of the media is a "both sides" thing. Only one side has systematically and systemically worked to undermine the credibility of the legitimate media and isolate their viewers to a single point of view that cannot be questioned by any other source.

Showing junk articles or stories for ratings and convincing viewers that you, and you alone, are the only news source they should ever watch or read are not the same thing in the slightest.

Correct; LOTS of media sources accurately report information on a routine basis.

Lumping the BS all together with those is just nonsensical. And Fox has been on the low end compared to most.

Political bias is not the same as accuracy/credibility. Unfortunately, there are VERY few conservative leaning sources that hold the same levels of accuracy/credibility as the minimally left-biased sources. This is literally why half the country thinks Trump COULD legally hold those documents and is ready to riot over it.

You used this trash account for posts to prove false points recently.
What post? I don’t follow this dude on my Twitter. Most political tweets I get from Reddit or a group chat I’m in with my friends. My Twitter is full of sports stuff

This all falls under the shoot someone on 5th Ave., comment. I’m disgusted by Republican members of Congress defending, lying, whataboutisms, etc. They know better but can’t stop themselves. They’re all in. There’s maybe 2-3 left that give a shit about the oaths they took.

I just saw a Democrat Congressman talk about Nancy Mace, who he respects, but she flat out lied about Hillary smashing her blackberry with a hammer. These liars say this shit and then we have to argue with people on here who buy the lies. It’s exhausting.

Kind of falls into what fascists attempt to do.

While it is hard to understand, I think the harsh reality is that there are millions of Americans out there who have some of the same ethics and morals as Trump, and therefore identify with him. Until Trump ran for president in 2016, we had no clue how many existed.

Much truth to this
