This is an interesting development. I am glad the veteran's wife didn't lose out on the job. I don't wish bad on anyone.

Looking at the VA similar to a corporation, hiring freezes are common. My company was in a hiring freeze prior to the Christmas holiday. Each department head provided the justifications for each opening. The week following Christmas, all be 2 of the department positions were open again.

It is financially responsible to review the needs of each position, but recinding an excepted offer is not acceptable. This situation handled terribly.
