I have owned a courier delivery company here in austin since 2002. been driving professionally since 1993. I don't ever recall turning down loads for political purposes. of course I probably didn't realize the politics of the client till I got to the pick up or delivery point and saw stickers or banners all over the window of the business and the bumper stickers on the car!! I used to deliver for printers and legal stuff. pretty sure some of the political printed stuff was dem and I was repub. oh well. pretty sure some of the lawyers were big libs. a paying load is a paying load.
Life's a variety of choices. If the dumb f*** doesn't want to haul in or out of NY so be it and pay the consequences.
I would recommend a trucker convoy instead mainly because they have proven to be very successful.
I assume you can always just raise the rate to get guys. Somebody will care more about money than politics.
They had to juice rates to get truckers to deliver to South Florida because the rates for loads out was so bad.
sometimes raising rates causes people to go bye bye. just like taxes: some think raising taxes brings in more money ..... not always the case. some just go bye bye and not pay the taxes.
It’s NYC. Expensive is the cost of doing business. Look how much it costs just to drive into the city.

A former life long friend of mine is an OTR truck driver who...
a) looks exactly like that guy in the OP - hell, I had to take a long look to see if it actually was him - I drive for a living and that's the standard issue look for a LOT of truck drivers any more
b) has in the past 3 years since I kicked him out of my life bounced around employers galore because of how much of a MAGA inspired asshole he's become
One thing I have heard is if you're a competent driver, it's pretty damn difficult to get yourself fired given the shortages of drivers nowadays. So, if he's getting himself fired over and over, he must have gone around the bend with his antics.
Trump getting beat in 2020 I'm afraid short circuited him beyond repair. I swear, last time I saw him it was kinda scary to be around him. He kept regaling me with these stories where in effect every one was him getting into some sort of confrontation with someone. Supervisors, dispatchers, customers...didn't matter.

That “trade” used to be full of honest, dependable folks who could be counted on to operate safely. Now there are seemingly more and more “outlaw” types who bully other drivers, linger in the left lane, and are visibly utilizing phones while driving. Dangerous behavior on very crowded roadways is a bad mix.

I had a guy who looked very similar to this tell me I'm what's wrong with the world because I didn't go to an ash Wednesday service. I just gave him a chuckle and said sure thing buddy and moved to the other end of the bar. It's best to not engage with morons like that.
