Washington (CNN)The presidential campaign of Sen. Rand Paul took down a web video Monday after the Senate Rules Committee determined its use of Senate floor proceedings in the posting violated the chamber's rules.

The video, which was posted on YouTube on Friday, used excerpts of a recent floor speech the Kentucky Republican delivered about his opposition to continuing a National Security Agency program that sweeps up a vast amount of call data from Americans in its search for terrorists.

"Use of any duplication of television coverage of the proceedings of the Senate for campaign purposes is strictly prohibited," said Brian Hart, a spokesman for Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Missouri, the chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, citing the standing rules of the Senate.

keep hearing about all over the media, is f'n Bruce/Caitlin Jenner. You would think that getting some of our rights to privacy back would be a HUGE deal. But no, some dude who just has to become a woman is the top of the news.

Our media completely sucks.

We no longer have a free press. We have a purchased press.

What's funny is that people just can't wrap that around their heads. I mean seriously, a MAJOR issue has just been dealt a blow. One that the American people should be very happy for. Of course it's not the top story, the tranny is.

Seems like a pretty dumb rule to me. It's like telling an athlete they can't provide a highlight reel to specific employers.

It's retribution for what he did. There are plenty of people in Washington that are not to happy right now. He's been getting smeared all over the media for this. That's when you know you have a media problem. When at the time something good and Democratic actually happens, and there is very little coverage, and what coverage there is negative towards what happened.

" To their credit, Jeb Bush defended the NSA program on Sunday and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) put out an irate statement: “After tonight there is no guarantee that U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies will have all the tools they need to protect the American people in the face of a growing terrorist threat."

This statement should help you all with who NOT to vote for.

I wonder if Jeb Bush and Rubio have the courage to admit as to WHY we have so many terrorist threats to deal with these days. It wouldn't happen to be the NeoCon led Foreign policy that has helped to ensure that we are hated and despised by most of the rest of the world, would it?

Perceived 'style' over any substance. That certainly sounds like the direction our society has headed. The media leads us there. It's all about appearances. Sad.

Nobody wants to deal with the hard issues, just kick the can down the road.

This infers that the NSA is actually going to stop doing what they've been doing. We already know they overshot what they were legally approved to do. We really believe they're going to pull back because some piece of legislation expired? Really?
