A good friend of mine in high school won 4A state in the 400 meters. I wasn't in track, but I used to run with him sometimes to stay in shape for other sports. Once he had a pace going that I struggled to maintain after a few laps. Then, he shifted gears and just kicked away. He just ran away from me. I stopped and laughed. Talented guy!
