Markese Stepp To Nebby

What, a resume? He will be fired after another losing season next year. Bank on it.

Frost caught lightning in a bottle one season...at Central Florida. That's it. One season. CFU beat a few good teams including an upset of Auburn, but it doesn't hurt to have the rest of your schedule featuring Austin Peay, East Carolina, Florida International, Navy, SMU, UConn, Temple.

Needless to say, competing in the B1G is a little tougher...despite having the gravitas of a "blue blood" program. ;)

My thoughts are that Hawks fans are not being fair to the Huskers here. Frost is building his program the right way at place that doesn’t often demonstrate patience. This Fidone kid is a game changer from everything I have read about him.
Our thoughts are that you are delusional as hell if you think Frost is building his program the right way.

Frost has been for sure a disappointment as of now but I truly think he turns the corner and doesn't look back. Came into a bad situation and the S&C has improved leaps and bounds as you seen with the defense for sure this year. He has lost a ton of close games, sign of getting closer.

I mean... I can say the same about Purdue and Brohm inherited a worse situation yet and hasn't recruited at the level of Nebraska. Doesn't mean a thing until you actually do it.

Marke$e "Show me the money!" Stepp finds his way to another pay-for-play school.
What are the odds that he never graduates?
😉

Frost and Nebraska fans are Star-fu**ers! College football is loaded with guys that were once 4* high school guys that are now 2* college players.

All it takes is for them to see those high school stars and they start going out of their delusional minds. This USC back had lowly stats at USC and I'm not sure if he was even on the 2-deep.

Nebraska just lost their whole offense (#1) to the portal....nothing will change that.

Next year minus red shirt seniors all the players there are Frost's guys coached by his staff minus 1 year as red shirts when they didn't play. Your Riley and S & C excuse cards are about due to expire. Also with the schedule next year could be another long Fall for Frost again.

Iowa fans are naive if they think Nebraska will be down forever. Once a blue blood always a blue blood. Scott Frost is building something special.

Minnesota was more of a 'blue blood' last century than UNLLLLLL was.

Are they still a blue blood?

Probably more so this century than Nebraska.

I believe program stability is beneficial (and thats good, since I am an Iowa fan). Its quite possible Bo Pelini would have self-immolated by now, but he also was far more successful than any of his replacements, and I don't see any reason why he couldn't have kept Nebby in 8 win range as opposed to what they have now.

The problem is that so many Huskers didn't realize their status as an 8/9 win type team was their essentially their 21st century ceiling, rather than their floor, and that winning games wasn't their birthright. They could/should be, about what Iowa is.

Honestly, if Frost is the golden boy that so many say, he should be doing better.. the west isn't *that* tough. But if they show signs of life in 21, and they are patient enough to give him another year or two, he could (and should) have them back as a winning team. (I thought about saying 'in the conversation for West titles, but for some reason they are already usually there for the first two weeks of the season...)

However, even with “improvements” at Nebraska, the rest of B10 is not standing still and making improvements too, so I just don’t see the huskers making much of a positive move in the win/loss column (at least in the near term).

Blue Blood? There isn't a single player on UN's roster that was alive when UN won their last conference title. Furthermore, nobody on UN's roster has beaten Iowa.

Law of large numbers says yes ... give them enough seasons they will in fact get back to a bowl game at some point. The sun shines on a dogs butthole once in a while as well.

The 2021 Huskers will have the programs best defense in some with the return of Britt and Doman.

Martinez will be in year 4 and has elite targets coming on board with the FCS kid and Fidone who is pretty much an All Big Ten tight end from day 1.

8 to 9 wins is not a ceiling for Nebraska football. That is delusional.

When is the last time Nebraska had less than 4 losses in a season? I'll save you the time it's been 17 seasons. Pot meet kettle when it comes to calling another fanbase delusional when it comes to Husker fans.

This is a joke, right? Once a perennial doormat, always a perennial doormat. That's what Nebraska has become over the last 5 years. Now move along skipper.

Iowa has held onto Kirk for too long. Should have fired him this year and brought in Bert.

Nebraska has a QB that can't complete a pass >20 yards downfield. Unless FiDONE and the WRs all catch swing passes... they'll never be close enough to touch one of AMart's throws.

And Frost still doesn't have a center that snap the ball in a "shotgun" formation. All those "stars" don't mean much when the development had been so horrid.

But keep drinking the KoolAid.

I meant a program that averages 8-9 wins. A few 10+ win seasons, sprinkled in with a few duds.

There are only about four about 4 programs (Alabama, Clemson, OSU, Oklahoma) that I would put above clearly above that range.

There is a next tier of the USC, LSU, Oregon, GA, ND, WI etc. PSU, Michigan, and FSU should all be in here, have fallen a step behind lately.

Then you start to get into Okie State, Iowa level teams. I don't doubt that Nebraska can get back to (and above) this tier, but if you think they are in it now, or can be even in the next 4 years, you probably don't need to bother replying to this post.

I speak the truth. To say that the Iowa football is on the same level as Nebraska football is laughable. Only Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State compare from a history/tradition standpoint. The Nebraska brand will always be significantly stronger and more appealing to elite recruits than Iowa. A few wins won’t change that.

There is a reason why a kid like Fidone who is a future all American/first round pick chose Nebraska.
