I think, but am not 100% sure, that this year was his COVID year. He played 4 years ending in 2020, then took the extra year this year.

Yup, this was his extra year. Was huge to gave him back, he’s a big part of this years success!

No. Gus went to Howard in DC. He grew up in Detroit and played FB, BB and Baseball there at UD Jesuit HS.

Feel really bad for Matt. This is a kid who had second thoughts about coming to Iowa to begin with. He got here thought of transferring but gutted it out and became a great teammate and CB. I hope he has a full and speedy recovery and ends up on the long list of Phil Parker success stories with an NFL team.
