do we have any chance of landing him? I’ve heard he is a big isu fan, is this true?

Purely opinion: he is a husker fan. We had a better chance with him when they had the Riley staff but he might be buying into Scott frost. I have never really felt like he wanted to be a hawk but with nebby just getting a 4 star in this class he has to really be thinking about what he wants. Again purely opinion but I hope the staff offers him and if he says yes, great. If he says no, skip a class for qb and use it somewhere else. We have a likely 3 year starter that a RSJR (shout out kilroy) will be following and a rsfr that will be in the pipe behind him. Petras makes Duggan an want not a need imo.

Doubtful. Even if Duggan was already committed, you think they would pass on a 4* QB that wanted to commit?

I find the Petras commit interesting as to how it possibly relates to Duggan. Maybe it's an indicator of some sort about how they gauge Duggan's true interest for Iowa as well as what they feel about Duggan himself as a prospect.

On a side note is Wilson still visiting. The last thing I saw said he was excited about his visit coming up. You'd have to think getting Petras would change his plans. Doubt Iowa would even take another QB in the 18 class.

already cancelled. Cancelled before Petras was announced. Sounds like Wilson wasn’t happy about it either.

I get that he'd be upset with whirlwind these last two weeks has been. I'd bet that was a fun call to make for KOK, or Bell, or whoever drew the short straw.

I think they would have taken Petras regardless of where they felt they sit with Duggan. Of course now, with Stanley probably being the man for the next couple years, Mansell and now Petras, would Duggan want to take the chance that he might have to sit for two or three years?

Or come in and win the job like a boss...?

Not really bummed about Wilson situation as he seems more like a Drew Tate QB. Nice arm but he seems to have sub 6'1" height and narrow shoulder frame. Agile and capable, but not likely to take many hits. Also looks to play out of a shotgun formation. Not really Iowa's mode.

Petras, from that photo of his folks and Kirk and Iowa QB position coach KOK, looks to be at least 6'4" and able to fill out more. Probably more along the lines of Rick Stanzi and Nathan Stanley. I prefer a QB that can look slightly over his interior OLs. More NFL prototype for QB.

Duggan's injury history has to be a factor and his Husker fanboy love would have me looking for another option. Not overly concerned about losing Duggan as I am over possibly losing Newsom, Porter, and Campbell (the 2019 top uncommited FB talents in Iowa ).

The addition of Petras makes the Duggan saga a little less painful if he doesnt end up at IA. Neb also got a QB lately so his head might be spinning a bit now as to what he wants to do. It might have been a shit or get off the pot moment for the Iowa recruiters.

I don't know what Wilson expected.... maybe he should have gotten his butt out to Iowa City like Petras did if he was actually interested.

I hate to say it but Wilson reminded me a bit of Rudock. If he wouldve won the job, he would've been a game manager but probably not have been the guy to go out and win the game.

This. We just had a 3*/4* QB beat out a 4* QB 2 years his senior and 2 other 3* guys older than him for the job. Anywhere worthwhile has other guys who kicked HS ass to compete with at QB and only 1 can play. That's normal, expected and why it's transfer city if you lose out.

Wilson kinda reminded me of CJB.

But it doesn't matter anymore. o_O
